Ugh, we were told FFG, and apparently things have changed. :( If this is not something you guys can live with, I'll issue refunds ASAP

It's certainly different from what was advertised with the "Full Flat Grind" in my opinion, and though I think they are beauties, I understand why some people could be upset. ConservativeKnives was expecting a different blade from the description (as I'm sure many people were), so why can't he express his disappointment and ask a question?

^^This^^

Thanks for being rational about our dissapointment.

I wonder if the blade grind must accomodate having the blade stops mount on parallel surfaces? Otherwise, would a true FFG blade grind require engineering new blade stops for the bevelled mounting surfaces? As much as I would have liked FFG I don't mind the saber grind too much. Kinda wish Kershaw would leave the blade as ground with that "Emerson" satin finish and not stonewash it, but I think THAT would be too much for everyone to handle right now.

I may be assuming too much here Spark, but I suspect that most people would prefer you to find out if it's to late to change the order to FFG or not.

I know you have a lot of plates spinning right now, thanks for the speedy reply on the subject in the first place.

With your heavy workload right now I too appreciate your understanding on this issue. First Class in my opinion.

Spark,

I won't request a refund. Yes I wish it was FFG, and If it could be changed right now, great. But if not, I've waited too long for this to have nothing to show for it.

Thank you again for everything.

You're right. I personally didn't care either way. Now that you point it out I can understand how some one that did would be disappointed. My apologies ConservativeKnives.

Thanks for the picture update jimmer_5! Looks amazing and can't wait for them to get here!

hmmm... while i do think this grind looks good, FFG would still have been preferable. other than the rounded edge in the rear, there appears to be very little difference between the standard skyline grind and what we're getting on these. still can't wait for mine to show up though! :)

Spark,

The blade grind is not that important to me. Just the fact that this is the first non-Traditional Forum knife since I've been a member is what I'm looking forward to. The fact that its a Kershaw Skyline with unique scales and upgraded steel is a bonus. If they can change grinds to FFG, I'll take be happy to take one of the FGs.

Even thought they're not true FFG, they're still good lookin! Mine will match my orange Skyline realllll nice! Hopefully the stonewash comes out well!

I'm excited for my two. They're still gonna cut great either way, so no big loss (though I also would've preferred a full flat grind). Still holding out hope for a proper, rough stonewash!

Thanks for the update, Jim and Spark! The big day draws ever nearer!

I'm stoked! Those pictures of the blades are great! FFG would have been cool, but that grind pictured in an S30V blade steel, stonewashed sitting in blue G-10 scales....this knife is going to rock! Can't wait until they ship. Thanks for the picture update and thanks to Spark and Thomas for all of the hard work.

Thanks for the update Jimmer! Awesome stuff. As for the grind, as I expected, only way to make it look like itself. (Using my machinists eye; a full flat would have been allot harder to make.)

I love the idea of a FFG, which is a major reason I ordered this. However, the choice of steel, and custom aspects are reasons I won't cancel and ask for a refund; I think it will still be an awesome knife.. albeit my slight disappointment.

I am curious though; why was it changed?

Spark, whatever the reasons for the change, I'm sorry it blind-sided you.

Please tell me the handle is still going to be blue...?!
