2012 HTM Forum Gunhammer: *Commitment/Sign-up* thread

Just got an email from Darrel saying we're waiting on 5 guys (myself included, lol). If everyone gets their deposits in before Aug. 31, he can start the knives sooner.

How long have you been waiting? You don't have to answer. Just curious though.

Also, everyone pay up! Well, no rush, we are only kidding guys. If you need to wait til the 31st, then do it, no one needs to be in a bad place financially so our wait time will be a couple days less.

Was there a specific dollar amount trying to be met in order to begin production? Or was it a requirement that Everyone that wants one must pay at least half? If it's the former, I'd be pretty sure the amount has been met and possibly exceeded based on the original 25. :confused:

Darrel is a man of few words, to the point of aggravation at times. I'm not sure. I think he just wants everyone to pay at least a deposit.
 
Yeah, in Darrel's place, I'd want to make sure everyone puts his money where his mouth is. I think the idea isn't so much to get a particular dollar amount as much as it is to guarantee that people don't back out of the project and leave Darrel hanging. If they want the knife, they've gotta pony up enough to make it worth Darrel's while.
 
Interesting. Well, let's hope the deadline is the deadline and the number stops moving up. ;)
I'm excited about this knife. It will be GH #2 for me.

It's the latter, for the reasons mentioned by crimsonfalcon in his reply (fairness, secure commitments, etc.).

And yes, the deadline is a firm one. Anyone whose deposit isn't paid by the end of the day on August 31 is going to be dropped from the list and the project will move on without them.
