2012 LE Bladeforums Skyline Discussion

I don't think so. It was initially going to be ffg, but there was a little communications snafu or something. See the pic.

There is a difference between FULL flat ground and just "flat ground". You could call it a sabre grind, I guess. The grind is high and flat untill it reaches the flat area. In regard to the regular skyline, pretty much the same deal except for the part between the flat area near the spine and the edge, which is hollow instead of flat in the regular.

EDIT: a quick paint illustration.

Anywat, I THINK this is the case.

Indeed. You speak of a sabre grind when the bevel starts in the middle of the blade. In the BF Skyline, the bevel starts way higher up the blade, so could be classified as flat, but not full flat.

Delays are sometimes inevitable and timelines sometimes get pushed but the key is communication. As a consumer and a business owner, I feel if someone takes the time to purchase and/or endorse my products and/or services, its my responsibility as the merchant, whether I deal in profit or not for profit, to communicate any and all products delays within a reasonable time frame. My customer should not have to continually reach out for answers. JMO I will continue to wait as everyone is doing.

The regular skyline is hollow or saber ground. The pictues to me look like this one is too, but it could be the pictures. We'll know soon enough.

It is different. It is very hard to tell just from the side pictures alone. The grind marks are about in the same place so looking from the side it is next to impossible to see the difference. If you looked from the tip down at a slight angle it would easily be seen. I hope this description helps! Shouldn't be long now!

The description details posted with the latest photo was amended on 10/24 to read "flat grind" instead of "full flat grind", as originally read.

Just an update: Kershaw should be shipping these to us either tomorrow or Tuesday. They will begin shipping out the day after they arrive.

Thanks for the update HPIC. So they'll be here just in time for Christmas. Awesome.:D

Thanks for taking on this challenging task. The vast majority of us really appreciate it.

Thanks for the update spark, we really do appreciate it. Sorry a few bad apples had to....disrupt...the experience for ya.

Any news on the bonus prizes yet? ;)

Looking forward to it. I just wanted the knife so I never had any problem with the grind or the time involved. Also I'm Gold Member anyway. The important thing to me was to get that freaking knife! ;)
