Nice comparisons Mr Boggs!!

Here are a few pictures of my cattle knife mentioned in a previous post. On the main blade the swedge has been buffed to a weird shape as well as the sheepsfoot blade. On the back of the blades the swedges have been buffed and are uneeven. The sharpening of the blades are somewhat substandard, the choil is nearly missing on the main blade. I am not very good at sharpening blades myself, but I think I could do a better job than that.

Not happy with this one!!

Russell, I hate to see that. I really do.

But thanks for reaffirming my decision to NEVER buy a Queen product again, in this life or the next, without handling it first.

On the bright side, it appears that anyone with vision correctable to 20-100 and the motor skills of a seven year old can get a job at Queen grinding/finishing/sharpening blades, and get on-the-job training. I think Bubbles here might have worked on yours:

The swedge on the blades were cut that way...you can also see it on my first picture....this is a photo of the originals as they appeared so many years ago..take a look at the front swedge

That really made me laugh out loud Stu. Somehow I think you maybe right. For some of the classy knives S&M/Queen have produced, these heritage models in appearance are major let down.

I'm in for the Premium in bone...maybe next payday since I already have a couple of others in the mail system now :D

Take a look at post 37, the swedges are more uniform compared to the wavy swedges on my example, there is a distinct hump on my sheepsfoot blade, over buffing in one place too long will give that effect :thumbdn:

I really love the look of the Scatt & Moragan Heritage Series. They look real sleek and sharp and I especially like that theres no laser etching on the blades.
Question for you guys and sorry if this has already been asked but what manufacturer produces the S & M knives? I thought I heard Queen but not entirely sure.

Queen produces Schatt and Morgan.

Personally, I fell in love with the bone Woodsman the first time I saw it and have one on order. It shipped Monday and I am hoping for delivery tomorrow.

Jim,

nice photos thanks...

I have an incoming Ebony Stockman and a bone Cattle knife cigar
Will see them in a week
The price is very reasonable

I did not get the Woodsman as I have our Bladesforums Moose and the S&M 2008 series in Worm bone

Boggs,

Unless I'm mistaken, I think the ebony moose in your 1st pic is the vintage knives edition. Much the same as the BF moose, I suppose, but for the shield; both made by Queen.

You're right ..I most of placed them in the wrong boxes the last time I cleaned them and didn't realize the mistake ....

Rectified and thanks for having my back.......

Remember, these are artist interpretations, and not actual knives. They can have very different appearances.

Knowing of your experience with Queen and the experience I had with them over the S&M Fire and Ice Wharncliffe built by Queen that I got, I have to agree with you Stu.
