I'd vote for GEC again also but I'd like to see them do a repro of the Congress Lincoln carried the night he was shot.
Always liked the look of that knife.

That is a nice knife, but that could also get VERY expensive.

I would love to own a replica if a well standing company made one.

I always thought of a buck 301 handle, with a clip and sheepsfoot blade, both opening on the same end.
sorta a modified buck jackknife

just something i think -I- would enjoy. I not sure how others would feel about it though :p

I'm willing to do shipping for the 2012 knife. Andy set the bar with the 2011 knife and I want to see if it can be bested. :D

As for the pattern I would just love a scout knife. Barring that I'm open to anything; we've already done my favorites so I'll just be pleasantly surprised with whatever comes along.

Hey there Mikey, you also have to produce a grand child in the less than 9 business days shipping to top Andy ;-)

Good luck! Hee Hee.

I'm all about a wharncliffe trapper or norfolk from GEC. Both of those knives would really wet my whistle

Ixnay the elephant toe-a...you know what I'm tryin to say :o

I'm not too concerned with the maker, as I'm sure we of the BF community will chose only the highest quality makers, that being said - in terms of pattern i'd like to see a like t bent gunstock - cattle knife - Tear drop Jack - sway backjack - 3 3/8- 3 3/4 size..ALL WITH 2 blades, Spear (master) and clip or wharncliffe secondary - I was hoping to see either natural micarta or wood like cocobolo for the handle materials -- not really feeling the sunfish / toenail idea, no offense

Ex_ this Llyod Gunstock photo credit too VCM3 (tho i'm not a fan of the blade shape on this one, only the handle pattern)

Ex_this UnXLd cattle knife, great example

Ex_case jackknife but i'd like to see something with a slightly bigger single bolster like halfway to a barlow

oh, or i'd do congress that has a fingernail/grooming blade like a few erickson customs i've seen but can't find pictures of or a DOCTORS KNIFE, a DOX knife would be very cool...Imho

I'd like to see a nice single blade lockback Grandad Barlow in stag or jigged bone.
GEC did a fine job on finish this year. I think they should be used again this year.

Ok...Im going to say this because I saw a knife where I thought....yeah!...thats a good knife.
It was Charlies example on Coreys Thread on Muskrats..and as much as Muskrats tend to be pushed aside, Charlie's examples had one serrated blade, what an awfully handy knife.
I do think that G.E.C have made a tremendous effort for us..which has worked, they have given us mental patients a fantastic effort which has produced some great knives, so we should in return look after them.
Without dismissing this knife so quickly..do yourself a favour and check out this knife...its a beaut, there is NO denying.

I agree that the TL29 is a great knife, but there may be some resistance since we did a screw driver on the 2011 knife.

You know.....i'll tell you what I think my final opinion is for the 2012 knife. One of 2 patterns

A Gunstock

Or a Cattle Knife with a Punch with some cool jigging (If this could be done for $100 I would be all of it)

gunstock would be very fine choice, senator, half congress... yes :D Even muskrat from GEC, something like in american elk style handles... maybe even gunstock harness jack...

I think that the key to these forum knives is that we do a pattern that they don't currently make. The fun is developing our blade configuration, etc. That's something to keep in mind

Sunfish or an elephant toe. I am flexible

How about a swell center Rope knife/Whaler?

Single blade!, or mabye the Whaler with a low profile Punch or marlin spike!

Looks like they released a single blade, easy open whaler! (Not sure how I missed that one! I should have ordered one for Christmas!)

Locking Rope knife perhaps?

This with a long pull? Single blade. Lock? Get a little crazy, and make it a warncliff?

This suggestion also sounds great!

Some pages back I made a few suggestions, one was to consider a single blade; Don't think it's been done before, could keep costs down and so possibly give us special options for scale material. The Swayback Jack is revered here, rightly so, but a BIGGER single blade version after this Masterclass would be a very special and desirable Forum Knife XII

I'm really warming to the idea of a gunstock, previously floated by several of our good members here. I would love to see GEC pull it off in their own unique way and put tortoise shell acrylic handles on it.
