As for the size, I know the winning length range was 3,5" to 4". But, considering how many people voted for the 3,5" cathegory, I think it would be fair to lean towards the "low end" of the 3,5"-4" range. Also, both GEC and Queen have a Congress frame in those sizes, which could make it easier to happen, considering that these two companies are probably the most probable choices.

There's no buts about it Fausto. It's the spirit of it that counts for me anyway. Yes, the choice was 3.5" - 4" but I'd hope something over 3.5" would be chosen - maybe just 3 5/8". 3.5" was in each poll. Why didn't they just put 3.5" as the only choice. The way I read 3.5" - 4" was "from 3.5" up to 4".

GEC has the Congress pattern available on a 3 5/8" and 3 3/4" frame.

Queen has 3 5/8" and 4".

I vote for the second blade to be a simple pen
I find this shape to be the best all round user for a small blade
And visually it counters the sheepsfoot quite nicely

3 5/8" closed.
Long pull on sheepsfoot master, full length of the frame.
Pen secondary, in front of sheepsfoot, extended spring.
Swedges.
NS or stainless liners and bolsters.
Bar shield, square ends, pinned, in the center.
White, ivory, or butterscotch micarta. Something light that doesn't show the "grain" much.
Square bolsters, one single groove. Not pinched. Unless what's on the Northfield #61 is considered pinched, then yes.
No blade etching.

GEC could probably pull this off without too much trouble. Use the 61 frame, the 61 pen (uncrinked, of course), and make the sheepsfoot longer to fit the frame.

I would recommend the short end of the range as well, this could allow those who voted for the shorter sizes to be included. I know for me if it is close to 4" I will sit this year out. Steven

Ivory micarta and a long pull primary blade. Blade types? Hmm. Sheepsfoot primary and a "slightly longer than usual" pen blade secondary. Long and thin-ish shield.

Edit: Primary blade around 3 inches.

I like the ivory micarta suggestions or even ghost jade micarta. And I love sheepsfoot and wharniclife blades. No shield for me but stainless bolsters and liners.

Linen Micarta would be sweet and I, too, would like to see it on the smaller side. That said, I'm mostly just happy y'all are putting in the work for us degenerates. Thanks!

Thanks for the discussion and ideas this week, everyone! You've all given Dave and I a lot of material to digest in this thread. I'm going to ask the mods to close it while we take a little closer look at everyone's thoughts. In order to prevent an endless stream of polls, and since we seem to have reached the tipping point on several design aspects, we're going to find the most commonly requested features from this thread and finish our spec sheet. We hope to have an announcement about the details of it by the end of the week or over the weekend. We're making progress!
