This makes my day. It's been a long couple years coming. And yes, I think it's going to be even better than last years.
 
That looks lovely in the drawings and the tube art is very cool.

I assume the rat-tail bolsters make it this year, since they are on the GEC drawings...
Otherwise I'll have to get out the file again :)
 
Oh please oh please let it have match strike pulls! The drawings and tube are look fantastic!
 
Getting even more excited as this draws closer, and another vote towards the match strike pulls. Has GEC done them previously?
 
Is there any advantage to matchstrike pulls? Besides the cosmetics, I mean.
Personally, I think it's a cleaner look without. But if everyone likes them, I won't object.
The only knives I have with them are some Rough Riders, so maybe I haven't seen any that were really well done.

GEC certainly have done matchstrikes before, SFO linerlock 85 comes to mind.

Frankly, I'm not bothered about them one way or another, the Rat-tail bolster is my fixation......
 
I know it's not on the spec sheet. I can't recall there being discussion about it either, and I'm not going to be upset if there isn't a match strike pull but I quite like them just. Have you ever actually struck a match from one? Call me sad, but I think it's pretty cool.

Either way, I am really looking forward to this one. :)

They weren't, but it was on the tube art. That's why the confusion.

The 85 SFO did have them.

I like the fact that I'll be able to modify the main blade into a wharncliffe relatively easily ;).

Who says you can't have your cake and eat it too????:D
 
Oh man this years knife is going to be amazing!!! Dang, wish I would have ordered 2... Anybody wanna lineup a pre-production trade??? ;)
 
I noticed on the GEC .net page that they are now starting to show some pictures of the forum knife in early production stages.
 
does anybody have an educated guess of when these will be final and shipping? i am so anxious to get this thing!
