Is there any advantage to matchstrike pulls?

I can't believe this wasn't answered earlier. Not that I've done it, but apparently, you can strike a old school "strike anywhere" match on it to light it. Most matches today are safety matches which only light when used on the box they came in.

They also work as a makeshift emery board for when er my erm fiancé breaks a nail...

Or filing the points on your teeth...:D

It'll look great with or without the strikepulls. Certainly something to look forward to:thumbup:

as the guy guilty of drawing the match striker pull on the label art i would like to apologize for any confusion, the way this years knife and tube art went through the paces was a bit different than previous, and the MSP may have been a remnant from my earlier drawings, sorry for any confusion.
Regards
Gene

No apology necessary. I almost didn't bring it up, but I was intrigued. The tube art looks great; well done!

Don't apologise, the art looks fantastic! As was said by others earlier, the spec sheet didn't specify matchstrike pulls, I'm just day dreaming aloud.

Great job on the tube art :)

I'm proud to say I'll be the owner of 3 prints of original works by the legendary "IvanKerley" with this 3rd GEC BFC Traditional.

No worries! Keep up the fine artwork! A large part of why I buy the BF knives is because they are BF knives and as such have a story more than just being another production knife

Since you are talking about Gene's fine artwork, I will repeat once again that Gene said LAST year was going to be his last year. (for doing the artwork)
He was kind enough to to bail us out again this year but has told us that this will be his last. And it was time for someone else to step up to the plate. He also said he would be happy to help out however takes it over.
So..................ANY takers??? Hummmmm! :D

Dave

I'd be happy to help. I am a graphic designer, and illustrator (and photographer), and would love to be a part of the process.

Let's finish this year's effort before talking about next year's.

At this point Gary and I are pretty unenthused with the prospect of going through this brouhaha again. It could be that time will make us foolish again.

Yes...that is why people get married more than once!

Thanks for the update! I am glad I ordered two. Some folks at another forum are interested in our knife. Makes me proud to be a part of this!:D

Just got an email from Bill at GEC - they're going to start production this week. :)
