Excellent knife gentlemen and ladies. A big congrats to all involved. Coming from someone with ZERO forum knives, I believe this one to be the most visually stunning yet. While participating in the selection polls I just couldn't see where this knife was going, I too was skeptical of the end product. Hats off to those who persevered to see this to fruition. Your efforts stand on their own merits. I will kick my own arse for a month of Sundays for missing this one. I can only hope GEC follow up runs are as desirable.

That does look great, can't wait to get it in my pocket!

I'm also not a big fan of the bar shields, it's just a boring shield most of the time and doesn't do much for me. But the congress pattern is one where it just looks like it belongs there, I think it turned out great!

Some dislike the bar others love it and I expect most are indifferent. I think the way GEC make their congress patterns the bar shield works. A GEC congress tends to have an almost straight back, whereas other makers put more of a banana into it. This style allows the bar shield to run parallel with the edge in a way that I think is very complimentary and yet emphasises the curve of the opposite side. A great job all round in my own opinion, but I'll have to see how it handles to make a true judgement. :)

Came out better than expected IMO. The bathroom material :D doesn't look bad at all.

Still not a fan of the white or the main blade but I'll be proud to carry it for a solid year as I did with last years... I've never had a knife with white furniture but maybe it'll grow on me. I do see a possible regrind to a warncliffe in it's future after a year though. There's no substitute for hands on use so we'll see how the main works out for me.....

I have a feeling I'm gonna' wish I'd bought an extra one!:D

I hope that GEC picks this one up in their regular lineup, with different covers. Althought the current white scales aren't as hateful as I feared.

I would think that they would..but didtn they do a Harness Jack a couple years ago that they didnt expand on?

The Harness Jack was an alternate version of the established #85; our #13 is a completely new pattern for GEC. I would expect GEC to at least test the waters by releasing their own version of the #13. GEC did release their own version of the BFC #74 and the JBFChamplin #92, so expecting a GEC #13 is a good bet. Just have to speculate on scale materials now. :D
