What does the 'T I W' mean on the tang stamp (in the middle of the great eastern cutlery)?
Thanks. I was racking my brain.If memory serves, TIW is "Titusville Iron Works" which is stamped on GEC's carbon steel knives.
Sorry for the delay responding to your question, missed it somehow. I can't fault the GEC's in any way, however this new one is danged perfect! Except for one thing....the handle pin nearest the tang on the pen blade is slightly "proud?" on the inside of the liner and drags on the blade enough to stop the blade from closing if you don't let it snap closed. But, no big deal, I'll fix it myself with a small file. I can see how this slipped past the assembler because they probably just let it snap closed I guess and it does that just fine. But in comparison, I'd have to say it's slightly more perfect.Man, that is one beautiful forum knife!!! If you don't mind me asking, how does it rate compared to previous BF knives in your opinion?
