Neat looking knife. Didn't realize this was a new pattern (#13) & had assumed they'd make it off the existing #61 frame. Would love to see the two side by side.
 
I can't stop looking at the pictures while I wait for mine to get here.

What does the 'T I W' mean on the tang stamp (in the middle of the great eastern cutlery)?

If memory serves, TIW is "Titusville Iron Works" which is stamped on GEC's carbon steel knives.

I wasn't big on the congress pattern when this year's knife was called to a vote but now I'm anxiously awaiting its arrival. Came out beautiful.
 
Dang, that is a pretty one, too bad they're all done :(

Sorry for the delay responding to your question, missed it somehow. I can't fault the GEC's in any way, however this new one is danged perfect! Except for one thing....the handle pin nearest the tang on the pen blade is slightly "proud?" on the inside of the liner and drags on the blade enough to stop the blade from closing if you don't let it snap closed. But, no big deal, I'll fix it myself with a small file. I can see how this slipped past the assembler because they probably just let it snap closed I guess and it does that just fine. But in comparison, I'd have to say it's slightly more perfect.

Hi Spark, or indeed anyone in the know,
Referring back to the OP, I'm still awaiting an update with regards to shipping costs for the UK. Is this the case or have I missed the update somewhere along the line? I paid for a preorder at the beginning but paid nothing for shipping yet. My apologies if these questions have been answered before but this is my first BF knife and the procedure is foreign to me.

You could PM him through Bladeforums PM system. It's worked for me in the past. May take longer, though.

Make sure to put a noticeable title in the note, though, to catch his attention.
 
I got mine in the mail today, unexpected surprise, didn't expect it so quick as i was only keeping half an eye on the thread - too much anticipation can be bad for my heart after all :)

I'll try to get pictures up in the morning, my camera won't do it any justice this late I'm afraid.

Needless to say GEC have outdone themselves in the quality department once again. I like the grinds, half stop and long pull. I still haven't warmed up to the scale material or pattern, but that's never here nor there, it's a fantastic knife.

Go to page one of this thread. It was started by Spark. Click on his avatar and pick send a PM or send an e-mail.
 
"International shipping will be calculated at the time of boxing and you will be sent a payment request for the cost." from the first post by Spark in this thread.

As per the above statement, I am going to wait until Spark sends a request for payment for the calculated shipping costs to Canada. He did also say that the international orders would be the last to go out.

Such a beautiful piece, I absolutely love this one. I got mine in the mail this morning. :)
 
Looking forward to receiving mine but it's going to my dad for Christmas. Had I known it would come out so nice I'd have purchased two.
