Arrived yesterday and went right in the pocket for the night. Couldn't have hoped for anything better. Great fit and finish, pleasantly light pull (similar to the #61), and the scales are incredibly smooth with no trace of grain in the Micarta. Tossed in a close relative for comparison's sake. Bad lighting, great knife!

Can anyone confirm that the covers are micarta? Or are they solid white acrylic (as previously seen on #66 jacks, etc.)? It looks like the latter in pictures, but I know that "white" can be very hard to capture.

I remember looking up the term GEC used on their website (Ivory Phenolic Laminate), because I wasn't sure what it was. Apparently, that's what paper micarta is. I think I would have liked linen micarta better because I like the visible pattern. Still happy though.

As soon as my comes in we'll post a family pic of all the forum knives from 2006-2013, all 8 Traditional Forum's knives.

In so excited, that I just can't hide it, I'm about to lose control and I think I like it...

Maybe this applies to what we have on the knives, found it on a google search...

"Industrial Phenolic Laminates are made by applying heat and pressure to layers of paper, canvas, linen or glass cloth impregnated with synthetic themosetting resins. When heat and pressure are applied to the layers, a chemical reaction (polymerization) transforms the separate layers into a single laminated material with a "set" shape that cannot be softened again - therefore, these materials are called "thermosets". A variety of resin types and cloth materials can be used to manufacture thermoset laminates with a range of mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties."

Does anyone know if we can still order one the payment link is still active.

Received mine today! It's slightly longer than the Camillus Congress I carry.

I'd like to thank everyone on this. I have several of the other annual knives, and (while I'm biased) this is already my favorite. And the fact that we all helped brng back a pattern that has not (as far as I can tell) been made in any numbers in 30 years is just great. That's the kind of thing I like to see this board accomplish.
