Heres mine

Here's mine, it has a strong pull right now but I am sure it will break in. I really like the stag on the presentation side, it has a creaminess to the color. The pile side stag is more whitish. Since I am right handed I only ever see the presentation side anyway. ;)

I accept all responsibility for glitches and delays.
All my life, I have needed a secretary, but have never had the opportunity!
As Clint Eastwood said, "a man's got to know his limitations!"
If we do another Forum knife, a more organized person will do this part I am winding up, I promise!!
All will be sorted soon. Thanks to all for participating in my requests, "stickied" at the start of this forum!
Everyone will get their knives. Barry has done a stellar job, given that he has to work with me!!
Good thing I have other strengths!!:p

You did a great job Charlie and I thank you so much! Besides, most of us were thinking it would be November when GEC did production on them, but they are arriving in October....how cool is that!! :D

A big thanks to you too Barry, this was a huge undertaking and actually I see no problems with having to wait a little bit for such a great knife!

Getting 350 knives out and to all around the world must take some doing.:eek: I wouldn't fancy the job too much!

We're waiting in anticipation, not in vain :)

akadave2 - that is another gorgeous example of outstanding stag. So well matchd too, GEC seems to have done an exemplary job matching the stag and Mr. Lloyd got some them some truly amazing stage to work with. Congrats!

I feel bad posting the one I bought off the sales forum before some members have received their orders, but it is what it is I guess...

Nice pickup bleh, I like how thin the stag is on that one. Good figure and thin covers, a winner for sure! Bet it rides great in the pocket.

I ordered mine with a friend, 2 for him 1 for me. It came in Friday last week. I finally got my hands on it this morning at breakfast. We meet for breakfast on Fridays. I am loving it! This one is almost perfect. The tip is not sharp, easily fixed, but otherwise perfect. I will try to get some pics thus weekend. My friend also gifted me a Douk-Douk. Knife people are the best people.

MINE MINE MINE! The first one in Europe perhaps?? It arrived on 21st Oct, very good just 1 week from Barry's but the machinations of Customs meant that they take the packet from the P.O. in the Capitol send me a letter wanting the import tax, I go on line pay it and it gets sent to my local P.O. Often it gets delivered by a van but today was chaotic with first snowfall-had to change the car's tyres too, so I had to collect from the depot. Hectic day.

Daylight fading fast (and clocks go on winter-time tomorrow..) so the shots can't do it justice. Frankly brethren, I got the King Stag, Crown Point in my view! It precisely what I like, full stop. The pile side is really deeply grooved, and it's a phat but not obese knife just how I like a lot of things....:D No blade play, fully flush on open and close and at half-stop! What a cracker! Quite a strong pull-again that's my requirement, there's a bald patch on my arm so you can say it's really decently sharp. I thought the 11 Bullet End was my favourite FK but it's been de-throned.

Sincere thanks to the minds behind this project, congratulations to ourselves for choosing it and above all homage to those men & women at GEC who literally make it all possible. Their skills are rare indeed.:thumbup:

Thanks, Will

I'm loving the stag on this one. There's a perfectly thumb shaped scallop in the mark side right on top of the shield that leads up into a tapering groove along the shield that's great for worry stone rubbing. There aren't any sharp spots or hot spots when holding it, and it's nice and slim. There's a slightly raised spot on the pile side almost exactly opposite the thumb scallop that allows for a nice 2 finger spin of the knife. I like the size better than my #15, but the differences are subtle. It came sharp. I can shave a few hairs with a swipe on the forearm, but there's still room for improvement.

A few questions:
1) What's the best method to clean gunk out of the pivot? This thing is HARD to open, but I can already feel it getting easier and it feels like there's just junk in there. Having only recently come to traditionals where disassembly to clean isn't an option and this being my first stag knife, I don't want to damage anything by getting water in there or using some sort of chemical that's going to affect the stag.
2) What's the best sort of oil to put in there after the cleaning?

Thanks in advance.

I just use mineral oil in the pivot, just keep the pivot facing down and keep working it and oiling it until the oil runs clear. A little drop on the pivot occasionally going forward and you'll be good.

Mine was a little tight initially with a stiff pull and weak snap. It has broken in nicely and Is now in the 5-6 pull range with nice snap.

Lots of great looking stag here, just like I knew there would be! Special thanks to John Lloyd for his generous contribution!

Listen guys, I am just shipping the last stragglers I have addresses for today, so if you haven't gotten yours yet, it may just be going out. Sorry about the delay, but I could not avoid it. There are still a very few orders that need sorting out, so thank you all for your patience.

Barry,
It's no sweat as long as I know it's still on the way. I was starting to worry that it had gone astray. I know what a big job
it is to pack and ship 350 packages and I wasn't trying to add to your stress or problems. Thank you for undertaking that
chore. Do you now have all the addresses you need? Are any still missing or knives that haven't gone out?

I wasn't trying to sweat Charlie either but I didn't know whether he had received the emails I had sent or if they were lost
in the ether. I along with everyone else am appreciative of his efforts and work in pulling all this together.

I now know not to look for a package before next Monday and I'm cool with that. I can be patient as long as I know it's not
lost. It's my first GEC and first forum knife and I'm looking forward to it with great anticipation.

Thanks,
Michael

What sort of food safe mineral oil do you use?
