2014 BladeForums Knife Gallery

Even though I'm not a stag fan these look very nice folks. I'm going to guess that they are in the $125 and up range.

It's been 3 or 4 months, so it seems like it's free! I can't remember now, but weren't these about $76 each? With all the donated labor and donated stag, this knife could not be more affordable.

I complained too often about the absence of stag handles on Charlie's Barlows. But stag is not a traditional working class handle material on old Barlows. What I really always wanted was a classy, traditional jack knife with a clip blade from 1095 carbon steel with natural stag handles. I can't believe my luck!

These pics are gorgeous. I want a fat slabbed knife...No! The dished out concave handles! The brown stag! No the gray looks better. I can't make up my mind which is prettiest!

It's a hundred yards to the mailbox. Looks like I'll be getting my exercise today!

These are just really quick poorly lit pictures as I'm still at work but I'll try to get some better pics with natural lighting later on. Both are flawless with perfectly centered blades and great walk and talk. One of them has a pull of about 6 and the other about a 7 or so.

Awesome knives Jake my friend, man they are looking sweeeeeet! I love the one on the right- where the Stag slims in considerably - Good stuff there!

Well here is hoping that Canada Post brings mine by my birthday on the 26th. All renditions look great, even the stag slabs I care for the least! I'm hoping to get one of the thinner versions as I carry mine in scrubs, but I guess if there are enough of us that prefer a different type of stag a trade should be easily taken care of, so much beautiful stag.........

Mine came today! As it was my Birthday yesterday, this was a great present!

This is the knife on the right in the above pics

And this is the left knife

These are all just stunning looking. My hat is off to the folks that obviously put a lot of care in putting these knives together

onespdfrk, that right hand one is my type!! Droolmaster knife.

Stag is usually very variable stuff but so far it's all hit and no excrement in the ones that have been shown. GEC has obviously put thought into matching the types. Or unless the stag came from a herd of identical clones.....:D:D

Looks like you have triplicate of the same knife! I'll take one off your hands, no sweat. Just let me know!

Beautiful knife Xceptnl!!

Mine arrived today as well.

I was totally and completely amazed and quite happy to find that all 3 are quite different.

These are terrific knives, well built, perfectly matched stag and great fit and finish!!

Thanks to all involved in this project :)

Check out the variation!!

If mine will just hurry and get here! All the knives posted so far are just beautiful. Congratulations to those that have received their's and thanks for the ones who have showed pics. I am starting to get the feeling that this one may move my Gary Crowder Trapper out of my pocket for a while.

If anyone got a couple and wants to unload one, I didn't make it to the party soon enough, and am game! Love the shield. Just a super nice knife.

Mine got to Illinois today.

It is beautiful, nicely matched color and texture, blade nicely centered; no flaws I can see. The stag it not too fat and not bellied in - it is just right be my taste.

I believe this knife will get carried. I had originally thought to carry it in a small AG Russell belt pouch but that pouch is actually a little large for this knife so I'll need to re-think I hate to get it all scratched up from keys etc so I am getting one of the fine looking slips from Gunstockjack. He shows a very nice looking tooled one on his website but I believe I will get mine plain, this color with dark brown contrasting lacing.

Now to decide what to do with this belt pouch from AG Russell; I have both a small and a large one but don't normally belt carry. Maybe I'll have to get some larger knives to use with them or else trade them off.

Maybe I'll just grit my teeth and pocket carry it bare and let it build some character.

Thank you to everybody involved in this project.

Looks like all winners so far.
Thanks for the great pics guys.
I've not been able to use mine on anything yet, but I have been coon fingering it since getting it and I've smoothed the sharp corners were the swedge meets the spine & took the chisel like edge off the tang where it sticks up with the blade closed.
Not complaining mind you as it is typical for new GECs to have sharp corners in my limited experience, but they do need to be knocked down for the pocket & the coon finger's sake.
I initially hoped for this to be built on the 15 frame, but am now glad they went a bit longer as I can get four fingers on this guy for a good firm grip.
And the stag's ridges make for a nice grippy grip too.
Thanks again to all involved in bringing this years forum knife to life, it is everything I had hoped for in my first BF annual Traditional Knife.

Now can anyone explain the significance of the dots on the tang?

Sceva, Esnyx makes some nice ones!

Gunstockjack does excellent leather work too, but I don't have a pic of his handy.

duplicate post. unsure yet how to delete posts, so this is the best I can do. :(

Posts don't get deleted. Some of them get moved to a moderators area, when there are problems with the post. As far as duplicate posts go, I just leave mine or edit it with the statement "duplicate post". It's a forum issue right now. Nothing you did wrong.
