Charlie;

Please make sure the Canal Street folks understand if they don't win. I prefer double bladed knives; I would have voted for CS if it was just a single blade race. I'd hate to have them not make an effort in future years.

My feelings exactly, I wouldn't want any possible future collaborations with them jeopardized, CSC was there for the first 2 forum knives and considering the numbers, IIRC the first knife was in the mid 30s with the second knife totaling somewhere around 50. I appreciate them throwing their hat in the ring.

How far we've come from a humble 30+ knives 8 years ago to possibly 300+ today and every knife has been unique in someway. Looking forward to this year and this horse race is looking me, I wouldn't the out 2 blades yet folks, it looks like it's gonna be a photo finish. ;) :)

I really hoped CSC would get the bid this year especially after the hard work Eric did after he got a better idea of what people wanted to see. I personally think he nailed it & feel pretty bummed that dream is pretty much over.

Don't get me wrong though as I love GEC & have way more of their knives than any other brand. I will be buying a forum knife no matter which one wins to was just really wanting CSC to be able to show us what they can do & the improvements they've made over the last few years. I have 2 of their recent Barlows & they are every bit as good as my GEC knives. Hopefully they will be back with a vengeance for next years pattern bid. :)

I would really have liked to see the Canal Street win this year. However, all 4 choices are great knives and anyone of them will be a pleasure to carry and use.

Same here. If GEC had only presented a single-blade option, then I would have voted for the CSC in 440C.

Yeah, the CSC prototype looks really good. I've been checking the websites for something similar.

Wish it was closer - those Canal Streets are nice knives!

I completely agree. I think when Eric put together a prototype for us, he was really throwing down! "Look what we can make for you if you let us!" It's the first pattern that CSC has made that has really interested me too. Ce la vie. I hope they put it into production anyway so I can buy one.

I've already contacted Eric about the possibility of making what he came up with a regular production run. ;) I wasn't told no! I really hope they will see how much interest there was here from all of us that wanted to see them get this bid & decide to make a run of single blade barlows.

If csc comes out with the prototype knife in 440c I think I'll buy it, if possible. Looks great, and I need some good stainless traditional, especially with stag.

I want one too. Great looking little knife. Doesn't have to be stag either.... would actually prefer jigged bone.

I voted for the GEC single but they all look great and I will be happy with whatever is chosen.

I'd buy it in any of the steels CSC makes: D2, 14-4, 440 C, 1095, etc. I have one of their Coppersmith Barlows and really love it. The look of stag next to copper, in a single-blade and with a deep-brown copper patina would be very attractive IMHO.

Same goes for me. I prefer slipjoints with 2 blades, but if there were no 2 blade option I would have picked the CSC in stainless.

The vote on Canal Street is split because of the carbon and SS
Otherwise would have been a strong runner
Also the other skew is as the votes on the GEC knives pull away, folk will not bother to vote for CS

This is going to be such a great knife for this year. Coupla things from the fevered blathering dept-.
The voting has a couple more days to go and it will top out around the 320-330 mark possibly.Maybe a few will drop out(I hope not)
Which means it has smashed the odds because awhile back it was on the endangered species list. Anyway we will be on for around 300 pieces.
May I suggest a name? "The Spartan".
Also- from the spanner in the works dept - if we look at the votes (and this comment is purely observational ) Single blades have more votes than 2 blades by almost double.Food for thought.
