2015 East Coast Custom Knife Show (ECCKS) • Knives in living color!

Last year I shot a bunch of images for Knife Rights and I've done more at this show. All of them so far have been a donation on my part.

I have LONG been a supporter of knife-involved benefits and charities, and the list of projects I've aided with my service dates back ten years. I am willing and readily return to our community.

These makers below have ALSO provided their work to the benefit of us all. Each of these knives have been donated to Knife Rights for a pending auction, and help stand up for smarter legislation.

The veteran makers Pat and Wes Crawford

One of the hotter Tactical makers: Allen Elishewitz

And the same is easily said about Canadian Kirby Lambert

This forged bowie came in, I shot it, and I immediately went out into the show to seek out the Maker: Caleb White from New Hampshire. He and his wife Sarah were SO kind, humble and generous.
I've seen handle carving many times. Often it comes close to perfection. THIS one hit the mark in the bullseye.  (That blue divider adds a touch of color and intrigue.)

A sheath anyone would be proud to have made.

It's been a crazy week, and I've spent a ton of time editing, emailing, printing, mailing, and even posting. Did you know this is my SECOND job? LOL! (I work TWO full time jobs!)

Michael Zieba doesn't know the words "That's enough...." He keeps his artistry gears greased with many lubes.

Here's a series of key-fob or lanyard castings he's created with the ever-popular skull motif. Here's his NYC shop's homeboy:

See no Evil, Hear no Evil, Speak no Evil! Notice closely the jawbone and teeth!

Daniel Watson took this unsuspecting sword, sharpened it, and continued to set a record for the amount of cuts in a HUMAN HAIR without cutting through. (Old record in the high teens?)
Showing those curls was MY challenge. (Highest res photo and my prints shows them.)

Richard Tesarik from Czech Republic, along with his wife Veronika have elevated these folders with the forbidden fruit (ivory) on this pair of knives.

A final classic: Ebony and Ivory, done to perfection.

In closing....

...I'd like to say thank you. :D

Thanks for viewing, thanks for the provocative discussions, thanks for supporting these makers, and thanks for supporting US.

Jim & Susan Cooper

another great job of covering the wonderful knives at this show Coop. Always enjoy viewing your endeavors. Some absolutely wonderful knives were available it seems. It is a show I am sure we would enjoy but travelling that direction in March is just not something I relish the thought of so I will be happy viewing your images.

While there was some diversion in the road, Coop you did a great job of managing to deal, presenting your thoughts AND showing many fine images.

As always, thank you for all you do, and for always being YOU, proud to call you a friend.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

My reply, when I read it back, sound just like S. Garsson's...

It's been said hundreds of times, but again, all the people who don't attend the shows you work at look forward to these threads with much anticipation... There were many surprises in there for me, and I look at lot's of knives every week...

We are all lucky to have a fellow knife lover, who can go far beyond that, and show us the newer stuff with such skill, clarity, and beauty.... Thanks much Jim!

Best Regards, Rich Slaughter

I thank you in return. Funny how simple accolades fuels the soul.

Coop, you've been doing this ECCKS show for a while and every year you put out a beautiful body of work in the form of your knife images from the show. You capture and reveal these beautiful knives in sparkling detail - master of the shiny surface! Excellent

^^ Buddy Thomason is one of my personal heroes. We've been admiring and supporting and ELEVATING each other's work for years.

Neither of us are 'threatened' by a simple shout out in admiration.

Quote from Buddy: "A rising tide floats all ships!"

I get to do this ALL OVER AGAIN next month, as I'm flying out to the inaugural Miami International Knife Expo on April 24th.

A good thread.

Coop

Thanks for showing these Coop... AMAZED that this is your second job. Please dont tell me your main gig is driving a cab. :D
