2015 Forum Knife - It's Never Too Early To Think About the Next Blade Forum Knife

I know I've said it before, but wouldn't a 53/54 w a sheepfoot just rock?

I have a forest jack and love it, but it's just not the same.

Sorry if it has been mentioned before, but do you have to be a gold member to purchase the blade forums knife. If anyone could answer this it'd be much appreciated

Although I own knives from all of the potential manufacturers of this year's knife, I have to admit that I'm partial to GEC.

I would like to see a single sheepfoot blade on a 48, 53, 66 or 68 frame. I'm not a big fan of shadow patterns or bareheads, so bolsters and end caps please! Although I love acrylic handles, I would love to see a smooth white bone handle.

No. Anyone may purchase. Just follow this thread for future announcements and news about the 2015 knife. :)

I agree with whoever said a while back that it'd be better to have the nail nick on the other side of the sheepfoot. It'd sit lower and be on the correct side to open with your left thumb when holding the knife how you would if you were using the sheepfoot. I do like the idea of a large shadow pattern, in wood or micarta.

I still would like the punch/caplifter though, and look forward to the other offers.

It seems there is a consensus regarding the prototype from CSC: put the nail nick on the other side of the sheepfoot blade and lower the blade into the handle more.

The idea of a single spring, two blade knife seems very popular as well. I'm not sure how far we've come towards agreement on other things. Perhaps some other companies will come through for Charlie and we will have some other prototypes or proposals to discuss.

In the meantime, I want to throw my support behind bolsters. Tip bolsters are OK, but...

I like big bolsters, and I can not lie. You other brothers can't deny!

(Apologies to Sir Mix Alot.)

Case called me today!!
They would like to propose a couple of possibilities for a BF knife!!
They are OK with a single spring configuration which I suggested keeps the playing field level, and so far seems to be acceptable with most members here. They will get back to us with some options! CV (carbon) or Stainless!!
They are willing to stamp it with our stamp!!
The pattern must be one they make, so we await their proposals.
Nice to have them aboard, I'd say!
How about you folks??

Charlie - I'd say that is a very interesting and welcome development. I can't wait to see the final proposals that we get to vote on.

I think that opens up some possibilities. Case should be able to offer a bit more and stay under $100 per knife. I'm very interested in seeing what they come up with.

I say let's see what they propose. I agree..nice to have them respond.

That's terrific news, Charlie. I can't wait to learn what they propose. First time evah they have shown interest!

You da man, Charlie! It'll be interesting to see what is offered.

Very good news Charlie! They have some old patterns that need to be brought back, and it would be cool if we could make that happen. I'm very interested in seeing what they offer.

I can't wait to see what Case proposes!

032? 47? 75? All would make great options for clip main with sheep secondary on opposit side, just like the csc option. Or would that not Fit their current pattern requirement? Maybe they could do some ebony or other wood covers. I don't see too many newer wood handled case knives. Oh and please oh please a different shield. And CV please!

I love case knives and really hope they can bring their A game. I've seen too many of their duds lately. Hoping they can rise to the challenge.

Jim

This is heating up to be a great situation for us BF members. I am very thankful for Charlie and the gang. You gents are tops!!
