2015 Forum Knife - It's Never Too Early To Think About the Next Blade Forum Knife

...Even though my wife has me on a knife buying moratorium, I'm stoked for this one!

Guess you better buy two, so she can have one! [emoji12]

I just ordered two identical knives from a friend, one for my 17 year old daughter, and a duplicate, just in case someone else wanted one. [emoji12]

I think buying two is the way to go  Don't leave us hanging Scott, what did you order?

I LOVE the look of wood, especially for a safe queen. But if it gets used, I like a polished micarta. Maybe I just don't have enough yet, but my absolute favorite is still stag. But at this point in time, I'm going to be happy if I'm able just score a forum knife of any style or configuration. So many options have been thrown out in this thread, I'm both excited and confused at the same time.

About how late in the year do things get nailed down and allow individuals to secure a position? Even though my wife has me on a knife buying moratorium, I'm stoked for this one!

As a newer member I am curious too on how it works. Is there a set number and first come first served or does the order grow by how many commit to buy?

I suggested making a #15 Northfield edition a while back.... pinched/lined bolsters & end caps, embossed diamond shield..... I think it would be a winner. I vote for sheepfoot .

Fixed it for you. :)

For what it's worth, I prefer something I can carry, and fixed blades are difficult here. Other folks have the same problem with lockblades.

LOL.... I see what you did there! :p

I actually prefer a folder but I do like a good fixed blade sometimes.

Someone mentioned Snakewood a few posts back.....

#15 Northfield edition with pinched/lined bolsters and endcaps sheepfoot blade (I still love spear blades) and Snakewood covers!

I bet this would be a highly desireable knife. I also bet GEC could bring it in right under the $100 limit.

I didn't want to say, because they're not traditionals. [emoji33] (Griptilians. Not my call. You know. Teenagers.) [emoji12]

Good reality check! I think the forum knife should always be something you can carry. Sometimes in our enthusiasm, we forget that some places have laws or regulations forbidding locking blades, fixed blades, or even blades of 3 inches or more.

Any chance of Lignum Vitae for the CSC shadow pattern?

Lignum vitae would be a great candidate for a shadow pattern. Unfortunately, the high cost, and the propensity for destroying tooling would probably rule it out (I assume). That's why you typically see it on custom one-offs.

I think Mike at Bark River might do it. No idea for certain. I do know usually when we think up a pattern, old or new he likes to have around 300 knives to get it done.
