Thanks fellas! I am gonna get outside and take some better pictures before I ship that one off and post in my thread I have floating around here.

I like how the tin came out. He wanted it removable and wanted something different than my Shock cord tin method like on my personal BK-2.

And Yes Gus, That is a Handcrafted Axis Deer Antler Handled Ferro Rod made by yours Truly. Did a few in that set and two are actually for 2 other members here, each one came out great.
Will be finishing up a lot more of those and putting on the site pretty soon.

And I did my first Piggy Back. Should be arriving today at it's final destination. I am really excited to see how well it works since I don't do much Kydex. It was a challenge for sure since I usually just do the smaller knives in Kydex. I will be doing more of these for sure though.

Here is a pic of that if anyone wants to give it a look.

I don't think you put enough pressure on the kydex when you molded it. I can't quite make out the writing through the kydex LOL!

Thanks WW!

Well C-bear, that was a BK-24 so that's why it didn't show up and you need to look a little harder on the BK-9 sheath cause It's there. lol

Well done to Belgian police and intelligence for doing house searches with regards to possible terrorist plots, effectively uncovering said plots and taking a few of the guys out who started shooting back with automatics when police entered the compounds. Today I'm very proud at our security forces (y)

Good to hear they are taking down those cells. We've had three individuals in Canada arrested after the Paris tragedy.

Thanks WW!

Given a cursory glance I didn't see it. However now that I have taken the time to really look at it, I can see the writing... That is crazy! LOL Very nice work! What are the eyelets set up for?

Good on them, and good on you for recognizing them! So often the positive accomplishments of law enforcement go largely unrecognized and they are cast in a negative light as often as possible.

Everyone can finally relax, the wait is over :D

Doc i think you have a lemon. I put fuel in it, it lit up the first time, then i kept lighting it over and over at least 20-30 times and it lit up every time. Took it outside and it lit right up as well, but as soon as a decent breeze came by it went out.... So like you said its not great in the wind. But indoors its a champ so far. Works awesome with a pipe.

The only thing i dont like is the fact there is no way to tell the fuel level. So i wasnt sure how long to add fuel, and not sure if i completely filled it, over or under filled it. But its had no issues lighting up so im guessing its good the way i did it. Im sure ill get a feel for it and learn how much fuel to add.

This lighter is awesome. Worth 108 bucks??? Well, we shall see about that. As long as it continues to work as it has so far ill be extremely happy with it. The feel and function is great. But it is still just a lighter, so the price is steep no matter what.

Well Wood, you've only had the damn thing 15 minutes, give or take. I've had mine for 10 years. But that's ok... my started acting up after a few months... and got worse. Maybe mine is a lemon. Who knows, but 135 when I bought it, it shouldn't have been a lemon. That's just bad QA/QC. Hope yours doesn't get like that. I'm also glad you found a place to have them repaired. I didn't look real hard for one, but ownership/responsibility passed around a bit for a while there and there was no stateside repair facility. PM me the address when you get a chance, I might just send it in for 9 bux. It used to be free. Ther had a lifetime warranty back when I got mine.

Doc

My grandfather has a lighter that looks very similar to that but brown... and the base / fluid tank is twice as wide.

Why is your butt toroidal? And just because I like donuts doesn't mean I eat them....we're just friends, OK?

Why is everyone concerned with my butt? Getting weird around here...What, you don't eat friends? not what the rumor mill says... nyuk nyuk nyuk

Oh i was thinking yours had issues from day one.... im really hoping mine keeps functioning the way it is now, but if it ever stops it will for sure be going in for repair.

But i agree, at the price they should all function perfectly. You pay for quality, thats what you should get.

I did read about all the warranty changes, going from free to 9 bucks, going from lifetime to 2 years, and how the repair facility changed a couple times. But for now anyways it looks like there is a reliable place here in the country to get them done. I read that they charge 9 bucks weather you had the lighter a week or 15 years though, and when i called i asked if they repaired all old boys regardless of where they were bought or how old they are and they said yes for 9 bucks.... so its kind of like the warranty is forever, but with a $9 dollar co-pay, which really just covers return shipping. I dont mind the 9 buck fee really, its not that much for peace of mind.

Ill PM you with a link to the repair place!! Out of pure curiosity which one/finish is yours? I really like the gold and briar wood ones, but i went with the "cheaper" matte black LOL

Thank goodness!! I for one am relieved far beyond my ability to express the depth of my emotions about this incredibly important saga of circumstances.

FFS, I didn't spend that much worry, research and time whining about the whole process on the last car I bought, much less a damn cigar/doobie lighter... nor did I have as many people trying so adamantly to talk me out of it. It's a hundred-dollar geegaw, people... relax. I've spent more than that on lunch with people I didn't even like very much, for cryin' out loud.

*snark* ...just teasin' brother, I'm glad you got it and are pleased with it.

In other news, I don't even know what "toroidal" means, and at this point I'm too dang lazy and tired to look it up. :p

Happy Thirstday, everyone!

Dreary and threatening flurries here now, but the forecast looks quite good for a leisurely hike on Saturday.

Looks like Christine can't go to Blade (the TTC has put a hold on any time-off during the Pan Am games). So, it looks like it may be just me and Oz (while Zack stays home with Triggs). Anyone know what the pet policy is like for the hotels around event?
