2015, the snarkiest year yet!

Looks like Christine can't go to Blade (the TTC has put a hold on any time-off during the Pan Am games). So, it looks like it may be just me and Oz (while Zack stays home with Triggs). Anyone know what the pet policy is like for the hotels around event?

Can't be too strict... They let Murph stay in the hotels... I think. Hell, Todd may just pitch an old dirty shirt outside his room for Murph to curl up on, now that I think about it.

That sucks that Christine can't come with. :( I regret to say, I have no immediate info on specific hotel/motel policies re: pets, but I will ask around and let you know if I find any good leads.

(Ang and her colleagues work in ATL often, and she has a good personal friend that lives there. As I recall, Todd has a family member who lives in/near ATL as well; wouldn't hurt to ask him to send out some feelers. There is also a BF supermod who lives in ATL and happens to run a pet-care facility and has been known to really enjoy the BLADE show... I'll try to get in touch with him, too.)

Ok, just spilled my beer and I'm holding you responsible - lol!

Thanks James. Last year we stayed in a Motel 6 or Red Roof Inn (can't remember) in Marietta, GA. Both are pet friendly, but the location is a bit too far from the post-show activities. That's the closest we've found near the show and I'm not psyched about driving back there with a few beers under my belt. That's why I'm looking for something a bit closer or at least within a shuttle bus distance. Oz needs to get out in the morning and eve, but otherwise he's content to sleep the day away. Actually, I'm kind of jealous - it's a pretty cool lifestyle!

Glad to hear it finally arrived and that you like it!

Thanks bud!! Its sweet.

Thank goodness!! I for one am relieved far beyond my ability to express the depth of my emotions about this incredibly important saga of circumstances.

FFS, I didn't spend that much worry, research and time whining about the whole process on the last car I bought, much less a damn cigar/doobie lighter... nor did I have as many people trying so adamantly to talk me out of it. It's a hundred-dollar geegaw, people... relax. I've spent more than that on lunch with people I didn't even like very much, for cryin' out loud.

*snark* ...just teasin' brother, I'm glad you got it and are pleased with it.

Im happy with it, but i had to make sure the entire beckerhead community would be happy as well :D

Its the pewter one with pipe shapes.

I cant wait to get down there and do some fishing in it.

Love pontoon boats! We used to cruse the lakes up at my buddies cottage on one :D he installed a sounds system and we had a cooler in one of the storage under the seats. Fun summers.

I dont think i ever been on a pontoon boat. Not that i remember anyways. Growing up we had lots of different boats at different times, but never a pontoon boat. My father traded another pontoon boat in on that one, a 20ft one that he has had for a few years.... But he got that after i moved away so i never even seen it.

He is taking the new one out this weekend. Man i wish i was down there to go with them. But in ~6 months if all goes as planned i will be.

I asked the Realtor if they would do a 6 month lease on the house up here this time, this was before Xmas. She said she would talk to the owner and let me know after the holidays... But i still havent heard back. Thing is the lease is up the 31st of this month so i kind of need to know ASAP. I did call her and leave her a message this morning. Hopefully i hear back soon. If she cant do a 6 month lease im going to have to figure something out... Hopefully she does it.

I have a Maxped Mongo, and I can tell ya, it ain't big enough, and loaded down it's not so comfortable for long stretches. Might go back to a backpack setup. Got an Oakley Kitchen Sink that ain't sold yet (maybe one of you is interested?). May have to turn it into the daily driver. Though I like the Mongo more.....I just wish it was bigger.

Larkspur or Gleneagle?

if they don't get back to you, can you just rent month to month without a lease?

Thats the first thing i asked for is month to month. That way i could move as soon as im ready, but she said they dont do month to month, however the owner may allow me to do a 6 month lease. But she has to check with him. I even told them they could keep my deposit, the fridge (place didnt have a fridge when i moved in, i had to buy one), our washer and dryer. I wont need that stuff and its less to move anyways. Im just so ready to get out of this big city. The woods are calling me home.

It is impossible to listen to Baba O'Riley and not turn the radio up to deafening levels and air drum/guitar... Every dang time... Just FYI...

That boat has fancier furniture than my house. :D

Mine too bud, mine too. LOL

Just to giver everyone a better idea of the size of this thing...

Shorter than the bic, not as wide as the zippo, yet weighs 80grams, which is more than the Zippo and Bic combined  You feel it in your hand for its small size. Thats one of the things i really liked about it in the first place. It doesnt feel cheap.

Nice looking. How well does it baton?

I'll check them out, but I'll probably just stick with what I got. Unlike certain individuals *cough* I will admit to having some.......er,....pack whore tendencies. Which I do my best not to let ride roughshod over me. Actual packs.... I've kept in the neighborhood of a dozen plus or plus. Ok, I'd have to count to be sure. Maybe it's closer to a dozen and a half.

That doesn't include other sorts of bags. Messenger bags, waistpacks, Camelbaks, EDC bags, tool bags (now those should be their own category!), gym bags.......well, those would require calculus to factor into the equation. Maybe even differential equations.

So, since I don't really need a lighter, I was only peripherally paying attention to this confirmation until I saw this pic. It reminded me of a similar one that belonged to my grandmother (she smoked cigars as well as cigarettes); silver and hecho en Mexico, probably in the late 30's. My mom's family emigrated from Germany some time around 1938-39 and had to stay in Mexico City waiting to be allowed into the U.S.; my grandmother liked silver and smoked, so......
...anywho, I thought you guys might enjoy this; it still works - and it's handy to have a lighter that stays lit, hands-free.

Very well. I used a Hex Hawk to take down a few redwoods, then used the Old Boy to baton the logs into quarters. All in it took me about 10-15 minutes to process 3 redwood trees with 2 pocket tools.

You should see what i can do with full sized tools.

Snark- :p
