2018 #82 Dixie Stockman and Possum Skinner Run

DelOro DelOro

Del, definitely not the same as the copperhead, it almost looks like checkering.

The upper one looks like a standard zig zag pattern, and the lower one looks like criss cross pattern???

I noticed this the other day on GEC's blog, but assumed one was the Possum Skinner and the other the Stockman???

Del Confused. :confused::confused::confused:

I think it might just be the lighting on the top one making it look like that.

Well, my invoice went into my spam folder for my Stag reserve so I was a bit late to the party. I got the last one, I think. Not the prettiest, but not ugly either. Looking forward to checking out this pattern and am hoping that my Elderberry standby converts.

Well, I finally gave in and placed an order for one of these in natural canvas micarta, along with an Otnat with the same covers. I like a Turkish clip, and I love that it has a drop point rather than a spey blade. Here's hoping they get here before Christmas!

I'm either blind or stupid???:confused::confused:

According to Mrs. Oro, sometimes both!!! :p:p:p

The jigging looks different to me on each knife???:eek::eek:

What say you??? ;););)

Yes it does! I noticed that too. I’m hoping for one like the top knife so I’ll probably get one like the bottom.

I kept telling myself that the Dixie was bigger than I wanted and even went so far as to order a stag Calf Roper 66 I found. When the stag Dixie hit the dealers I wasn't very impressed but ran across one today that really caught my attention and is now on its way to me. And to think I told myself that I wasn't buying anymore knives until after the new year.

Good pattern. I have one from the 2014 run, Tidioute in Antique Black Jigged Bone. The 2-blade possum skinner variant looks like something I'd buy if I were still buying knives.

First, those are very handsome knives. The natural micarta looks almost orange to me, which I like. The jigging on the other handle is very cool looking too. I'm not a three or two blade fella but darn, those look good. I also didn't realize how large it was until I saw the pic with the 53 in comparison. You guys and gals enjoy those bad boys!

One of the few multi blade knives I do like is the 38 farmers jack. Earlier this year I purchased a 38 special single blade in red linen micarta. The handle looked super but when I opened the blade it was just too different than my previous experiences with the other 38 farmer jacks. Anyway, I recently sold it and when packaging it up to ship and looking it over....I began to have second thoughts about selling it. I opened the blade again and....It got shipped to the new owner. It's a super knife but the blade shape.....

Might have something to do with its absolutely anemic action. While I love how the #38 feels in hand, and its blade is a slicing machine, I really prefer my knives to close without me literally having to shut it all the way.

The 38 special I had displayed good action and does feel very good and solid in the hand.

I probably missed this info somewhere, but are the Possum Skinners a single spring setup?

I decided I’d buff my knife when I got home from work just to see how it would look. I quickly used a polishing wheel (cloth type fiber) that mounts to the end of my drill driver and some Mother’s Mag Polish. I like it so much that I’m going to wet sand the micarta to get it even smoother, this way I can get a brighter polish on it.

I like the contrast from the shiny bolsters to the satin blades.
