Dang it, I'm going to drop my Elk vote and just leave Ram. I don't think elk will win out over ironwood..but maybe. Koa might win out in the wood category. If that happens then maybe Ram will have more of a chance vs elk.

Sorry ram guys. I just love elk. The white portions, which are usually much more prominent that on stag, are the most beautiful part. Creamy, or pure white, it is gorgeous.
It takes an incredible polish, and it is extremely durable and hard. I think it would survive a tall drop onto a hard surface without damage. Can you say the same about horn? That only matters if you are planning on using it, though.

Many prefer the dark, gnarly parts on stag, and I see why ~ it's beautiful. And yes, elk is usually much less prominent. The smoother ridges and furrows on elk are more comfortable in the hand. That only matters if you are planning on actually using it, though.

Boy - if all this excitement for Ram would have existed at the onset of the poll, it would be an easy runaway by now.

Most of my knives are jigged bone. I really like Jigged bone, but I don't think it offers the appeal in this setting that elk or ram does - especially at around the same cost.

This is definitely an intriguing poll.

As a rule I oppose multiple vote polls. I am currently voting for Ram Horn, and Jigged Bone so which one should I cancel?

My current votes are for elk and ram. I genuinely like elk; but my desire for symmetry leaves me with doubts. I've never had a knife with ram horn; so I'm intrigued. Maybe if it ends up as a tie, I'll pull my vote & score the upset (it'll be a surprise which vote I pull, lol).
I'd probably have taken buckeye burl over either; but that's not going to happen...so this category is likely to be my winner

I feel like I am bouncing back and forth over this poll. I was thinking that if Ram could pass jigged bone I would drop elk, and it did! But I don't wanna drop elk! I still want elk. I just don't want any of the vegetable or mineral options.

Interesting to see the ram horn surge. It looks nice on a display piece, but over the long term isn't as durable as elk or bone. If you plan on pocketing the knife, I'd think hard before voting for the ram horn.

Horn may be more prone to shrinkage than stag or bone, but it is at least as tough on impacts. Basically, it's compressed hair, so there is very little to crack or split.

This is ram's horn from a VERY inexpensive knife, but it is still very beautiful and durable.
