He's watching you....the macho choice :D

The picture I posted of the Ontario RAT Stockman in Ram's Horn isn't very good, but it may help give us an idea what it would look like on a Stockman frame. Even better with our slanted bolsters:cool:

Remember, you do not have to vote for two. You can vote for just one. That would shrink the pool of votes and make it more likely for one option to gain 50% plus one. If your second vote is for one of the also rans, just cancel it. It will increase the weight of your sole vote.

3-1-1 3-1-1 I am sure that I am getting in way over my head by trying to do the math, but if you only vote your favorite and eliminate the also ran, aren't you shrinking the pool of votes thereby making it more likely that one option gets over 50%. Its not so much to help your favorite, but just to avoid a run-off so we can get to an actual knife sooner. We need GT! @5K Qs But maybe Stephen is not looking for a majority, only a plurality.

Maybe I am misunderstanding something, but I don't think that is so. Its just most votes wins, isn't it? Cancelling my Giraffe Bone vote, for example, is not going to put another vote into the Elk or Ram column if I already have one lodged in one of those two camps.

Some folks would like a clear majority rather than a plurality. I don't think it is a big deal personally.

Although, as I look at it, this poll takes the double votes into account, so you can still see the overall number of people who voted for a thing, so the top three vote getters are currently at about 120%. So really, I don't think dropping also rans is at all important.

That doesn't seem important until a final vote.
Isn't there ultimately going to be a chosen natural material, versus chosen wood, versus chosen composite, out of the three active polls?
And if so, I would imaging we are only going to get one vote in that race.

I really think that with 3 clear runaways that are all very close, and well over 100 votes for material other than the big 3, there should be another vote just on the 3 favorites, with only 1 vote per person. Then we would have a clear winner.

:eek:This is so exciting. Who's breaking the tie??!! Need a strong contender for the next round.

With 5 (five) votes total separating the top three contenders (including second choice votes,) the race is tied.
A run-off between the three, with one vote per person is the only way to honestly choose a winner at this point.

Perhaps SK could get Buck to do a sample of these three contenders before the run-off vote, and a sample of the mineral ... oh ... wait, they already have that one ... and the vegetable contenders before the final showdown.
The Animal run-off will delay the big event, but it is the only way to be sure the animal contender in the final event is the category's real first choice, and not an aggerate of first and second picks.

Since Ram was my first choice, I dropped my second choice vote for Elk, since that improved my first choice's chances of coming out on top.

Perhaps I misunderstood; but I thought the winners of the “animal/vegetable/mineral” polls were going to be pitted against one another to finalize the handle material.

If you want “animal” over “vegetable” or “mineral”, you should vote for the material that has the best chance to beat out wood or plastic.

Personally; I don’t like the chances of Elk, or jigged bone to win over wood. But ram’s horn... that’s a winner!

RAM! FTW!!!

I respectfully disagree. In my opinion, the winner is the winner even if it only wins by one vote. The majority spoke and that's what was decided. At some point, a decision has to be made, otherwise we'll end up voting and re-voting forever and we'll never get to see the final product!
