Important Info! 2018 Spyderco Mid-Year Product Guide - LIVE!

Wow
Page 3, 2nd knife. They're calling it the "Drunken". Framelock non flipper, skeletonized w/ carbon fiber scale, full flat ground, S90V, 3.8 oz! Looks light and slice-y.
That thing is sexy! No flipper ti-framelock with spydie hole? Sign me up!

That Tropen is looking really good. Compression lock flipper with an Emerson wave? Yes.

I am a little concerned that I can see the edge of the blade in the compression lock cutout, though.

Both the Drunken and the Kapara are looking really good, too.

Rex 45 = hap40. Iirc there was some difficulty working with hap40. Wondering if this new brand resolves those issues?
From what I've read HAP40 is a Japanese steel used for knives made in Japan and the REX 45 will be a US steel used for made in the USA knives.

Close, slightly less alloyed than HAP40, but similar regardless.

Yeah, I'm pretty much putting purchases on hold until the Tropen drops. Top of my list with that one.

I wish it was a smidge smaller, but I'll wait till there are some videos and more pictures to decide for sure. I really like the Kapara's carbon fiber with red G10 backspacer. Looks like a slim carry knife that feels smaller that it is.

It's a small detail but I find it interesting that when they did the HAP40 sprints the HAP40 was clad in stainless. These new REX45 knives are not. I wonder why the different approach?

Good eye! That does look off. Pretty wild and appealing knife overall, though -- I'll definitely be interested to watch reviews once it's out there.

Edited to add: The Drunken and Kapara look pretty amazing! Solid CF (yay!), nice light weight, just gorgeous.
