I went with acrylic! It's very strong, perfect for a barehead.

The regular run of 86s probably won't have an acrylic option.

Wood looks tempting on this pattern, but take a look at your GEC collection. Isn't there a lot of bone and wood in there already? What are the chances you'll get your preference in the next poll? We could end up with boring old ebony again...:)
We don't ALL have a large GEC collection! Sticking with bone or wood.

Early numbers look like this will be close between jigged bone and smooth wood. These are my top 2 choices (slight preference to jigged bone), so I'll be happy with either.

Not sure if that amazing random jigged bone (rope knives) will be an option in the next poll, but I know it won't be if we choose something different now.

Not complaining one bit but I am curious why there is no Micarta option listed. Is that because Micarta is generally done on the Tidioute line?

Right now, smooth wood has my vote. It is hard to vote for bone without knowing the jigging styles and colors that we might choose from. I am rather fond of bone (jigged and smooth) but I am pretty picky when it comes to color and texture.

Smooth wood is reliably going to be awesome, regardless of species. I even am quite fond of walnut, which many might find rather mundane.
Good points, Dylan. I certainly wouldn't want pink bone (bought my wife a "dark red" bone Case peanut, and the red was more like a bright lipstick red, fading to pink on the edges). Wouldn't mind a true dark red, but I have probably seen more bone knives I didn't like than wood knives I didn't like. Well, I have three days to ponder.

Last year I could have made the grooved/non-grooved bolsters vote a tie at the last minute!

I have more wood than anything else in my collection. I love wood. But this knife is just asking for something sawcut.

We need to know what bone jigging patterns will be available in order to make an informed decision and not waste a vote.

Sorry, that's the next poll. I have not been told of any prohibited jigging patterns; although many of the standard rules will apply. I would not expect primitive bone, soup bone, any culpepper bone, or any bone they haven't made in a couple years (because they usually stop making it for a reason).

Gonna have to think on this poll. I'm ok with jigged bone or smooth wood but if sawcut bone is an option after this poll I may have to vote jigged.
