Tsk Tsk, Mike  - fomenting dissent and retribution!!!
Be nice!!

Actually, my next SFO will have Smooth Ebony!! I happen to like smooth, dark wood on substantial, hefty - muscular if you will - knives!! Subtle, warm and exuding strength. Not showy!
Solid and dependable in an uncertain world!!

Not usually the case in history, but I too prefer brass pins with reddish, brownish woods, and steel/nickel with Black. And ideally, the liners should match the pins!!

You all heard it from Charlie, everyone! Vote jigged bone because he has an upcoming SFO in ebony anyway! :)

Most of the Jigged Bone they have been making is not what I call Jigged Bone but Machined or Cut Bone . If we can get Desert Ironwood , I could go for that .

Harry

I agree, I think most wood covers suit this style and size of knife well. Desert Ironwood, Snakewood, Bloodwood, African Blackwood, ... Lots of good options we can hopefully hash out in the next round of polls. Well, either way the next round of polls will be fun. It will be interesting to see how Mike sets it up. If Jigged bone wins will we have a list of patterns of jigging and Sawcut? If smooth wood wins will he list all the smooth wood options... No way.. too many. Not sure how he will narrow done the options. My smooth wood vote hope for options is African Blackwood, Desert Ironwood, Snakewood, Bloodwood, Oil Sucker Rod wood. If Jigged wins hopefully see Copperhead Sawcut, black cherry sawcut, chestnut peachseed, Copperhead Jigged bone...

Dang, this is a close poll. Every time I check in, it remains tied or within one vote. Reminds me of last year. Weren't the cover choices close like this as well?

I have changed my vote. I won't say from what to what. But a picture has changed my mind.

That's closer to an opinion than a fact as far as range of attractiveness is concerned. Personally, I prefer wood to bone, but in this run I'm more interested in getting some sort of jigging, which isn't going to happen with wood.
I didn't say jigged bone was more attractive. It's that there is not a large range of attractiveness between individual pieces of a particular run. If you like a particular jigged bone and you purchase one blind chances are you are going to like it. If you like Ironwood, well you might like yours a little, maybe you won't like yours and maybe you'll love the next guys a lot more and wish that was the one you got. There is a reason that you never see jigged bone individually listed whereas with other covers it's a greater possibility.
