All the more reason to go for a non-endangered wood! Plenty of nice ones to choose from

Not singling out any particular members, but the desire to win seems to be causing some to be just making stuff up.

Being able to change our votes due to honest conversation is great~ and a fun part of it. Just make sure you’re not being manipulated.

~ the gorgeous jigged bone mockup. Yeah- makes me want that, but how often have you seen that produced by GEC? Even our vendor came out and warned us about that.
~ “A CC sfo 86 in ebony is coming” - debunked by Mr CC himself.

Oh well, I’m buying one either way...
Cheers

Also sorry to you John, but that ^ is exactly what I dislike about the majority of GEC's jigging, too machined and half assed looking. I mean geez, look at the center line where the pattern overlaps.:rolleyes:
Thanks for tearing down one of my favorite knives.

I just keep picturing a larger version of this, and it would make me happy.

But an ebony version would also make me happy, so... I'm split. I think I'll stick with my original wood vote since both would make me happy and the wood seems like the safer bet. I'm pretty confident that the wood will tick all the boxes for a beautiful knife.

I could do without the EO cut out, but I think that’s a mighty fine looking knife.

Thanks for tearing down one of my favorite knives.

Damn the torpedoes!

I am not upset and I understand people changing their mind. That wasn't what I was talking about. I think you understand that......right?
Sorry Jason. Lacking the "I understand people changing their minds" part, it came off to me that you were assuming all were doing it for the sake of drama and I took exception to it. Now that you've said it I do indeed understand.
We're good now. Good luck with your choice.

John, I am sorry man, please forgive me.
I was only pointing out my reasons for not liking the jigging.
Just think of it as the uniqueness of a hand made knife.:)
I do like the grind on that blade though, it's so 21st century.:D

Wood NEVER looked this good!

And I say again, take a chance and let's make this a very special knife.

Bet he'd change his tune if you offered to give it to him. Heck, if you offered to sell it to him at cost! ;) lol!
Sorry again John, but not even Jason! I won't buy knives with that machined look jigging.
I have in the past, but don't own them anymore and I wouldn't buy one even at cost.
Besides the jigging it's RED.
My least favorite handle color next to blue, purple, pink or salmon.(wish we still had the barf emoji)
But hey, that's just me.... Mr.Picky.

Nope neva.

HERE HERE   black mamba black mamba & tmd_87 tmd_87 . You two are the smartest ;)

mykel m mykel m , my brother NEVA  - really? I got no witty comeback. :(

You know - it may be that I am just an old jaded woodworker. I like wood but have seen some of the best, on stupendous projects and so couldn't care less for wood knife scales. I can do that - really - and better than from the factory. There I have self understanding.

Those are good looking knives, but I have a couple of wood knives that look better to me than any of those. Also, I have seen a lot more jigged bone I didn't like than wood I didn't like. Keeping with wood, but looks like I will lose 4 in a row!
That's okay: I like jigged bone fine, just prefer wood, especially for this knife.

I understand. I'm picky too. No bone for me. I enjoy pictures of others knives in bone but for me, no thank you.

For what it's worth, here's a picture I culled from @T. Erdelyi that shows the forums knives 2006-2017

Do you see a bad example here? I think we're going to get something good whether it is wood or bone.

Thanks for re-posting this picture ! I agree that we will end up with a winner
