Prediction: Enough “no hope” option voters will switch over to Desert Ironwood to carry the poll just so they can have a color-contrast grained wood even if it wasn’t their first choice.

I don’t think Blackwood has a chance. On that note, the next ~25.25 hours will now tell what they may.

Let's hope that happens.
Now, if we can get rid of this Bomb and back to an actually unique option of reverse Orleans, that'd be great.
Sadly, I don’t think you have any hope for the “Ban The Bomb” movement. Almost every non-Bomb voter would have to switch over to the Orleans option and I don’t see that happening. It’s not as clear-cut a choice as Blackwood vs. color-contrast grained wood.

And now, once again--back to our regularly scheduled programming: RAH, RAH TEAM DESERT IRONWOOD! GO, TEAM, GO!

I find it interesting that folks believe that Black Wood is all elegance and no grit and that somehow Ironwood is the wood of the "working class".

Some of the hardest working knives in history have been clad in some black wood or another. I think it stands to reason that a knife clad in Blackwood/Ebony can work all day and night and look darned good doing it. You can be assured that any Ironwood knife that you put to any serious work, with all the sweat, oils, weather, and what not, will simply darken and lose a good amount of its luster. Especially with brushed hardware.

So the point being, if you think voting for Ironwood because it will be the better working knife is the way to go, I feel that sentiment is somewhat misplaced. Blackwood and polished hardware will age and patina far better and more gracefully than Ironwood and a brushed/unpolished finish will. The numerous aged examples that folks have in their collections are a wonderful testament to this.

In my experience, polished bolsters tarnish and get finger print marks at the same rate as brushed bolsters maybe at higher rate....
