i am flip flopping between ironwood and Mpingo wood.

very hard to decide, maybe that means they are equally good choices..........
currently switched back to ironwood after a short dalliance with AB.
 
African blackwood is ahead for now with about 28 hours to go. Hope it wins, but I think there are too many bloodwood diehards that will switch their vote to ironwood in the last few minutes of the poll just because they don't like black. Both great choices, though.

...or change their vote to Blackwood, because they appreciate nice straight grain and dependably beautiful color!

Eh, this is one I want to use and use a lot. When I think of the wood handled tools I have, none of them are black. I get it, the black looks more elegant...but I don't WANT this knife to be elegant. I've wanted a single blade sheepsfoot for the longest time and I'm going to beat the brakes off this one. I think the ironwood would fit that better...at least to me. Hey, as long as it's wood of any kind and not micarta I'll be happy :thumbsup:

I agree, this knife just doesn't seem like it benefits having flashy hardware and elegant wood. Would it make it a prettier and more collectable? Probably, but there's already a metric ton of pretty looking collectable GEC knives, this one could look tuff as nails and ready to work. I will disagree about the Micarta though, I think that would have contributed more than the wood.

Really surprised all the Ebony voters haven't moved over to African Blackwood seeing how close the poll is.

I've never gotten into micarta. Natural wood, bone or stag for me. I have a Buck 112 that's a complete, tough as nails work horse but I don't carry it as much as I should because of the micarta.
 
Nope. I voted for Bois ‘d Arc, and I’m not changing it.
I’ll be happy regardless, though.

Depending on the pull strength, I might cut an EO notch. I like the way they look.
