Koa, Black Palm

Bird’s eye maple... though I think that might be a burl. If so, disregard.

Can you link me to any of these being used in the last 10 years by GEC?

I don't mind asking GEC to use a wood they have previously decided not to use; or even a brand new wood (for them). But a couple things to think about. 1) If they get the wood in their shop and then decide it simply will not work before using it - a) we still have to pay for it, and b) we will not open polls back up. And 2) If they don't figure out the problem with the wood until it gets to finishing, etc. we are on the line for 500 cracked wood handled knives.

I thought I remembered seeing black palm but I might be thinking of standard coconut.

Birds eye maple was done on 620213 (46pcs)

Disregard the Koa, I must’ve been thinking of Kauri, which is probably impossible to get now.

They made some 54 moose patterns in wormy chestnut in 2010.

knifeswapper knifeswapper My bad asking for a wood not used in the last 10 years. I saw it on a previous list. Also, I would be loath to knowingly request a wood previously rejected by GEC. There are enough concerns with how it will turn out.

I would be quite happy with African Blackwood or Ebony.
