2019 GEC 29 Humpback/Stockyard Whittler Thread

Taylor, I would love to but unfortunately can't go this year, had knee surgery today, but I'm going to call and buy some tickets, it's for a good cause.
Oh, dang, I'm sorry!

And I did just read about your surgery too, I should pay more attention. But I'm sure you'll win it anyway! :)

I hope you get to feelin' better soon, my dad had his hip worked on a couple weeks ago and is laid up and hating it.

Thank you Taylor, I'm a champion sitter and I'm even getting tired of it.

I will get some better pictures tomorrow in the daylight.

Received my Osage Orange today, first one and won't be my last, this is a great knife! Anyone that is worried about a 3 spring being too thick, forget about it, it is thinner than a Case 2 blade Barlow. Great blade selection with perfect action on the blades, pull about a 5 with nice snap and I haven't even oiled it yet.
I'm really excited about this pattern and can't wait for the Northfields and Maher&Grosh's, think I'm going to make this Tidioute an EDC. Great job GEC.
Wish I could take pictures but had the knee operated on this morning and laid up for a few days.
I wish for you some quick healing Augie Augie . I know knee surgery is not a lot of fun but it usually feels better afterward than before . Hang in there my friend .

So, how is the punch on these? How does it compare to the awl/punch on an ALOX SAK like the Soldier/Pioneer? For me, that's the gold standard for makeshift drilling holes in wood or plastic (or even metal).

Some pictures with some better/natural light. After just one day of carry the grain is already contrasting. With the rounded bolsters it disappears in my watch pocket of my work pants. Main blade stout enough for my cutting needs. Four finger grip, comfortable in the hand, glad I reserved a stag 92. Sheepsfoot blade at just over 2 inches still has the precision I like at the same time a good utility blade. No holes needed today so I can't review the punch, however I can say it is sharp, watch your fingers boys and girls.

Nice! You're not making the wait for my jigged bone Tidioute any easier.
