2019 GEC 29 Humpback/Stockyard Whittler Thread

Look what my Mommy bought me for my birthday (last week). :D

I really like this little knife, a LOT!
I am nicknaming it the "Stocky" Whittler. :D
Fit, Finish, W&T... all good to go. The pull on the main blade is about a 4.5 (lighter than a 5 I'd think), not too soft but not as firm as I would have liked. But the solid 'snap' makes up for the pull. Absolutely no blade rub to be seen. A little bit chunky with the three springs, but not anywhere near as fat as I'd feared. All-in-all it's a fabulous knife and I love the Orange Osage.:thumbsup:
You got some nice color & grain on that one. My only worry is the thickness & weight in the pocket. Sounds like it's not a thick as it's Winchester counterpart.

Could just be the camera angle, but the shield placement looks weird, like it's asymmetrical between the pins. I don't care though, I want one anyway.

Received my Osage Orange today, first one and won't be my last, this is a great knife! Anyone that is worried about a 3 spring being too thick, forget about it, it is thinner than a Case 2 blade Barlow. Great blade selection with perfect action on the blades, pull about a 5 with nice snap and I haven't even oiled it yet.
I'm really excited about this pattern and can't wait for the Northfields and Maher&Grosh's, think I'm going to make this Tidioute an EDC. Great job GEC.
Wish I could take pictures but had the knee operated on this morning and laid up for a few days.

Appreciate the feedback. I too hope you heel up to 100%.

Thank you Tim, I left out I really like the punch and I'm not a punch guy, the way they have the edge sharpened I bet you could put a pretty decent hole in something with steady twisting and pressure. That is another thing I really like about GEC, there designs are not just great looking but highly usable.

Everybody go to the GEC page and check out the prize for the Wounded Warrior drawing!

Thanks for posting that pic! Look at that fire!

You'll probably win it at the big Rondy-voo!

Augie Augie I thought abalone when I first saw it. Thanks for pointing out the nice swedge...that my Osage won’t have! Lol. I’ll never unsee that now. ;)

Taylor, I would love to but unfortunately can't go this year, had knee surgery today, but I'm going to call and buy some tickets, it's for a good cause.
