2019 GEC Pemberton Thread

Some very nice Stag cigarrodog cigarrodog and nice White Bone joeradza joeradza and happy for you on your Stag notification Alan . Hope you get some great Stag my friend .
My wife's just showed up and it is just as nice as I hoped and expected that it would be . Flush spring at open and close , blade centered , pull of about 4 - 5 , and nice snap at open & close , bone and bolster joints are smooth . Some small black flecks in the bone . Very nice !!! Will fit in nicely with her very small collection of Small knives . This is a very nice LITTLE knife and very sharp . I hope that mine is as nice .

There is a slight difference between the two I have. My Tidioute is easily pinchable but my Northfield has a bit stronger pull...almost not pinchable. I havent flushed either so this observation is right out of the tube.
To note: I just got a second white bone Northfield today and it is just as pinchable as my blue bone Tidioute. So a bit of a difference even between two of the same exact knife.

The stag bonanza just begun and I got one, stoked to se it in live cause I didn't have the time to check the pictures properly, I panicked!

Least I got one..

Another home run for gec. Best I could do photo wise with this weather! Little small than I expected but still a very capable blade.

I got my white bone today. Really nice knife, no manufacturing issues. I don't find it to be at all pinchable. It's one of the sharper knives I've gotten from GEC. It will go great with my 22 and 18. I'll be posting a video on my youtube and review on my blog soon. Links are in my signature.
Yep, that swedge on the top of the blade prevents the blade from being pinchable. I have no problems pinching the Blue Tidioute version, but can’t even come close to pinching the Northfield version open. Oh well, the swedge does make the blade extra pretty.

I did something I've never done before: bought three of the same pattern. I bought the micarta one first - it was a hasty decision - I hadn't been paying attention and I wasn't sure where I was in the feeding frenzy, so I jumped. Then the blue one came out, and I HAD to have that. Then the white bone, well, it would just be stupid not to pick that one up. I have to admit, I wasn't too enthused about the micarta one. The photos I saw made the scales look dirty. When I opened mine up, I was impressed. The scale were really nice looking, blade super sharp. But what impressed me the most is how the "satin" texture feels completely continuous between the bolsters and the scales. This really surprised me. Well done!

I felt the same initially with the muslin.... I mostly bought it because it was available and affordable ..... BUT, when I received it I fell in love..... It is beautifully done and smooth as silk...... not cheap feeling or bad looking at all....

I sure hope the spears on the Northfields have a long pull and cut swedge. That will look classic with the smooth white bone.

The single blades were executed extremely well, but I cant just make myself like them a whole lot, probably the size (width more so than length.) I'm ready for the two blades!
