I was picturing a clip point too, but I don't hate the spear/coping combo. I really like having a curved edge and a straight edge. If my standby for a white bone Pemberton comes through, it'll make up for not getting a #18 Beagle when I had a chance. And it'd make a nice companion to my #14 Lick Creek or #22 Magnum. We shall see how these look. Frankly I’m a little bummed that these aren’t all going to be clip points. For some reason, I feel coke bottle frames should have clip points.
I'm sure GEC knows what they are doing with regard to the market, but I find it puzzling that they seem to expect the demand for the huge 4 3/4" #97 Coke Bottle to be almost 5 times that for the little Pemberton.500 each of the jigged bone and micartas...200 each of the smooth bone and stags. I.e. not many.

My apologies, I didn't understand your post. I assumed "interest" was a forward looking measurement. I am only saying that GEC is only making what was ordered; so for their part "production" already equals "sales". For my part, the number I ordered is based directly off of commitments. So, my interest was based directly on customer pre-production interest and GEC's production is based directly off of dealers pre-production interest.
Oh, I see. Thanks, I missed that. I guess there's not the risk I was imagining of unsold inventory.Apparently it's the customers and the dealers who already created the demand that GEC is trying to meet.
It seems to be true that the huge order is justified but your point is still a good one. It is amazing that the disparity could be that great between the two knives. Although I did reserve a #97.Oh, I see. Thanks, I missed that. I guess there's not the risk I was imagining of unsold inventory.
I don’t have any Pembertons but I’ve got this guy. I can live with the secondary behind the mainView attachment 1037238
I just hope the pull isn't too stout for a little knife.
They most definitely have half stops.Would anyone be able to tell me if the pemberton has half stops?
While I prefer half stops, it's far from the primary criteria from which I choose a knife.
That's the runaway beagle, rather unique. Good dayWhat does GEC call that acrylic? Pheasant in a blender?![]()
You might want to ask Darren in the linked thread below. I'll bet he could fix you right up.GEC does like to try not to repeat themselves. For example that last run of 14’s were all clip points the first run of 14’s were spears. The last run of Wallstreets were with wharncliffe blades. The first run of Wallstreets had clip points. So I guess we shouldn’t be surprised these won’t be clip points.
Does anybody here have any Photoshopping skills? It would be nice to see what the wharncliffe and spear main blades will look like on the Pemberton frame.
Just look at post #19 in this thread.GEC does like to try not to repeat themselves. For example that last run of 14’s were all clip points the first run of 14’s were spears.
