2019 GEC Pemberton Thread

The pemberton will give me more options on the days I like carrying something small and alternate with my coyote. I carry the coyote to accompany a fixed blade a lot. Their are also days and social gatherings I dont want to be without any knife but dont think I will need one. I have large hands but find I can use these small blades easily for detailed work. I am getting more and more excited to see these come about.

Plus my youngest daughter has taken a shine to my coyote and it's my only one, I need options :)

For those (like me) who have little to no experience with a 06 Pemberton, below is a link to a thread that has comparison photos with Pembertons and Case Peanuts.

The photos settle my concerns, a little, that the 06 will be too small. Peanuts are too small for me, and come in at about 1/8" longer than the Pemberton. However the 06 is wider than a peanut, and I feel will probably fit better in my hand.

Of course I won't know for sure until I get one, but for now I'm fairly optimistic that, while it's certainly not my ideal size, I can carry and use one comfortably.

I just hope the pull isn't too stout for a little knife.

John I just checked my 06 single blade clip and it's a 5 at the most, so should be okay. It does have the crescent nick though, seems like the two blade with the long pull gave me a little trouble accessing the nick, but it had the pen blade in front of the main.

Does anyone know the size of the secondary on the two blade version? Its called a sheepsfoot not a coping blade, so I am not sure what is planned.

Thanks for the info Jerry. I know pulls will vary from one run to the next, so I'll have my fingers crossed. The last run of 14s had some with lighter pulls and some with pulls that bordered on too stiff for a little knife.

John the 14's ran hot and cold on pulls. The clip on Lyle's SFO is close to being too heavy for me, but it's manageable and very smooth. I thought the CC's were tight and a bit heavy. Barry's, Kifer's, Frank's, and a Gabon Ebony (all singles) were about perfect. None were really punchable but easy enough to open. Getting old is not much fun....
