Looking forward to a Sabre ground sheepsfoot GEC. I don't have one of those and I'm interested in checking it out.

First, thanks to all involved in the work on the forum knife. I always feel bad since some of the conversations can be a bit pointed, and I hope none of you take it personally.

Finally caught up on the thread, and I’m still on the fence. I love my GEC’s, but as mentioned, even though I love straight edge blades, the sheepsfoot has been present on the past few forum knives. I like the idea of a fixed blade, but I already have a Vanguard and would prefer something else like a 212(which I didn’t realize was being produced until I read this thread). That said, I love the 192, and it has been my go to deer hunting knife for the past 6 years or so, so that is my vote. Not saying I won’t change my mind to the GEC tomorrow.

Not that I think it will happen, but I would be in for both...

Looking like the other knife crowd will be happy!! And it looks like I will be saving my money this yr..:D

Your sarcasm isn't necessarily. I guess if everybody said "me too" for your choice, Buck I guess, it wouldn't be a "me too"?

I could go either way and be happy, and have enjoyed the discussion on the merits of both fixed and folder. Some very good discussions about both have been very well represented.

The vendors have both been very accommodating, at least as far as they are able.
Just enjoy the ride! Great people here!

There's nothing wrong with a spirited discussion, as long as it's civil and respectful.

Unfortunately the process of selecting a traditional forum knife seems to bring out the worst in some people.

Wow.. Come on guys.. This was not meant to cause hard feelings.. Just a little fun..Just the GEC has been picked how many times.?? :D If I caused any hard feelings or insulted some one I apologize.. That was not my intent..

Things get a little crazy in these polls. But sooner or later the crowds disperse and all the regulars kiss and make up, and everybody congratulates each other on their new forum knife purchases. It's like Thanksgiving with the extended family, just have to survive the process without anybody breaking any furniture :D

No offense, but I'm not kissing anyone here... :D

A Saber Ground blade, in my experience, is not a good slicer. They look pretty but don't slice cleanly. Open up a can of Spam and try to slice a nice even, narrow, piece off and watch the disappointment in the eyes of everyone around you when they realize they're going to have to make a sandwich with wavy, uneven, pieces of Spam. Oh the agony of it.

Now, a flat ground blade makes a wonderful slicer. Maybe we ought to forget saber ground and go with flat ground like these knives.

A Swedge as seen on the Case knives would be icing on the cake.

If we went this route, I could change my vote from Buck to GEC.

I like that these have a second blade. Added versatility to this knife would be nice if they are to be users. I found last years two blade knife extremely handy!

I prefer a flat grind as well, I've had saber grind not stick the initial cut on hard items (like cold chicken, carrots etc.) and roll them in a bad direction (toward my finger).
