2020 GEC #23 Trapper Thread

Yep, me too. The brown bone is too similar to my 2007 GEC produced #23 for Schrade. I will be on the lookout for a #23LL in the smooth bone when the time comes unless I can find a preorder somewhere.
Bill Howard loves to change the colors' name right before the release. GEC is always full of surprises. I am hoping for that Chocolate Almond "soft" brown peach-seed bone on the #23 Northfield .

At first glance, I’d say I wish that I picked the antique autumn bone, but if the jigged bone is what I actually chose, I’m equally happy with my choice. The jigging makes it look like a tree trunk.

I’d like to see one of these next to a 86 Oil Field if anyone ever gets the chance! Much appreciated. These are beautiful!

For my #23 Trapper, I would say the Skinner Blade is a 9-9.5 pull and the Spey Blade is a 8.5-9.0. I think this is the right amount of pull for a blade this size (maybe a tad on the heavy side). Not the light pull of a 97.

9-9.5, just shy of needing a screwdriver?

Since a "1" pull is supposed to flop open, a "10" pull is supposed to be impossible to open, and a SAK is considered a solid "5" pull right in the middle... I figure most knives produced have a pull that ranges between a "4" and an "8". If I see a number that is above or below those numbers, I figure the reviewer is not quite sure how the scale works, or the knife is something I'd want to stay away from.
