2020 GEC #23 Trapper Thread

The mesquite is REALLY nice, but I think I'm glad I went with the Brazilian Cherry - the special jigging makes it. Anyone else have a preference of one over the other?
Still waiting for a blue camel to show up somewhere.... probably be waiting for a while.

Lots of great covers in this run of 23s!:thumbsup:
The jigged bone with the cartridge shield, blue bone SFO, mesquite looks fantastic, can hardly wait for the natural bone but the best of all is the beaver gnawed cherry...b/c that's the one I have.:)

i like the mesquite more than the pioneer but not more than my beaver tail. I don’t know when or where I’ll use this one which is a shame but I think it’s just a wonderful combo of blade, shield, and jigging. One of those GEC quirky and fun knives. The pioneer...well it might find a new home.

knifeswapper knifeswapper , they came out great. There is no etch on the GEC photo, is there really no etch? That would make it even better. Can't wait.

One week in and its getting some color. I have to say I have been very happy with it.

I knew Mike was joking..... but I was still ready to jump on the bike and head up the road.... I planned to camp out in his front yard, blasting Yanni songs all day and night until he surrendered one of the knives to me.... don't mess with us old farts.... :p

I am with you on that one. The beaver gnawed cherry wood #23 blew me away. I bought a single and the two blade from my GEC dealer. I spotted another single blade #23LL and I bought two honing oil bottles to avoid shipping. I should end up with 12/13 GEC#23/23LL knives. I'll be glad when this run is over. I want this Tidioute #33 Conductor knife too.

Mr. Mike has a big dog that will bite you. The mail man delivered a package , a while back. The dog tore up the package and chewed up all of the leather sheaths inside. I bet Mr. Mike has guns and cameras all over the place too. Play some Boy George "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me ?" for 24 hours. That might work !

I like the looks of that pioneer! and I am a big fan of the 23 pattern :)

..... almost completely off topic here, but does anyone know which of the two GEC leather sheaths fits the 23 LL? It almost sounds like the large one, but I would rather the sheath be slightly tight than slightly loose... if that makes sense.

Earlier, someone posted their #23 with a Large GEC sheath. But I'm too lazy today to go look for it. :D

Noticing some different jigging on my 2 blade vs. 1 blade LL - Tomcat like both! Different breed of beavers????

I fully understand the random distribution of the buttons, but I was just curious as to what they look like this round - especially the club & SFO knives.

I can confirm that the OKCA comes with a button because I have one. My beaver LL did not come with one from KSF.
