2020 GEC #23 Trapper Thread

I own neither, allow me to now pontificate on why one is better than the other. I would go with the gold jigged bone. I really like the beaver tail etch and badge but the autumn gold looks classy and timeless.

Yeah, plus I got $10 off and a free leather slip case with the autumn bone. I have the Cherry for my 23 already and variety is the spice of life, right?

I know this isn't part of the 23 thread, but this is the thread that convinced me to get a 97, so I'm asking for opinions.... I can't decide between the Beaver Tail Brazilian Cherry or the Autumn Gold Jigged Bone. Which would you choose and why?

I prefer Bone over Wood , but that is just me . They both look very nice .

Personally? In this particular model, I prefer the jigged bone.

This may be the second time in a week I have to call myself a dummy on the forum but is the jigging on the beaver tail supposed to be beaver tails or beaver bite marks...I know it’s right there in the name but when I saw it the first time I just thought “bite marks”.

Or you could get both :)

Oh, THAT'S a big help! I just got the 23 and would LOVE to snag a blue camel bone, but I doubt it'll happen, so I guess I'm compensating. One is enough though, actually too many! I had a Case Barlow of similar size for a while, but it had these orange scales you could signal passing planes with...too bright for me.
But yeah, BladeForums is NOT your friend if you're trying to save money! I have no clue why I'm buying these new as opposed to almost new in the selling forum. You gotta be fast there, though! Guess its worth it to just know you're getting one rather than haunting the forum constantly. Worth it in the way that I always see at least 3 or 4 other knives I'd like to have as well!

I received my woodland micarta LL today and I love it! The pull is a little strong but other than that it is almost perfect fit and finish. I’m really liking the jigged micarta. The liner lock tab is also small hardly noticeable when in use, really a great design.

I just ordered a backup woodland micarta LL and picked up the two blade model too. I don't know what it is, I just gravitate to micarta. The others will stay pretty, these I will use. Great knives!

Now would be the time, I don’t think these will stay on the shelves long once the run is complete.

My 2 blade autumn bone has become a user and I am anxiously awaiting the release of the LL autumn bone I have reserved. I did go ahead and order a LL micarta the other day when I saw a few available for a user because I know I'm going to want to put the Autumn LL on the wall in the collection.

After I saw the Autumn LL preview I knew I had to have one. Hopefully I'm able to snag one.

Mine, in Brazilian cherry...

It’s a beautiful knife. I wish the pull wasn’t so stiff.
All new knives are a little stiff. I put an old t-shirt in my lap. I wrap a "Frank's" polishing cloth around the blade. I work the blade back and forth while watching TV. Every new knife needs a little exercise.
