2020 GEC #33 Conductor Thread

It's official. I am getting on this train. I've got my name in the hat for both variations - the Stag was a no-brainer for me and I am always intrigued by the undetermined bone choice (sometimes it pans out, sometimes it doesn't). We should see some nice Stag on this one due to the small nature of the pattern.
I thought the same thing about the stag. I like a uniform thickness which is conducive to the smaller patterns.

I was pretty excited about the 62s ended up buying just the stag (not sure how) but now I wish I had looked harder for the ripe banana. These 33s are gonna be awesome and I hope they do another quirky color/shield combo. I think the unconventional color/shield combos on a traditional frame are great. I used to gravitate to the natural handle materials but the amazing acrylics have got me thinking about stepping outside the comfort zone.

I'm the same way.... I used to not be interested in the acrylics at all, but some of them are just amazing... like the tomato...

I'm hoping for a new run of 33's. In my opinion I find the smaller knives to be the most useful of all and find myself using them every day for one thing or another.

100%. I’m over the Conan tactical flipper fad and wish it would go away...although if others are focusing on those may its taking pressure of the GEC market. I got a little crazy and lucky and got the Micarta and cherry 23 liner locks but man in hand those are way bigger than my usual edc carry. I realistically don’t see using them...which is sad.

I love the looks and feel of the big folders but unless I'm hunting and get lucky I don't get much use for them. They sure are pretty though. :)

You think frame size impacts the choices? By that I mean do they need a certain amount of surface to get the effect, like the 29s in grits w/butter and molasses. I wonder if that would work on something as narrow as the 33s seem to be?

Those small 06 Templars have nice acrylics

I don't think so... the 06 templars have acrylic scales... and the slender 62's have been made in acrylic...the 2020 version had "unicorn ivory acrylic"... but older runs had several different varieties of acrylic... like my 'prize' 62 in tomato....

That is nice. Nothing better than finding a knife that you just wear out because you like it so much. I guess I was thinking more about “effect” I guess? The way they used the liners on the 29 to come through the acrylic as the butter, but yea on a solid color non-translucent scale, the size wouldn’t change the look or how the light penetrates it would it? Late night knife musings.

Anybody have any suggestions on where else to pre order these? Been on my list forever but I heard about the new run too late to get on collector's knives' list. Any cover will do!
