I saw that cover, and thought to myself... those edges look a lot "sharper" than the red/black. I wonder if it's just the lighting? I'm not sure I'd like sharp edges on a knife handle... especially one used for carving. Of course, they can be changed, if necessary.... we call it a "field modification". I'm waiting for my notification of its arrival, which will be the last of my reserved 62's.

Notice, I did NOT say that would be the last of my 62's.... just the "reserved" ones.

Yes, the muslin is coming next and is lighter in color/different texture than the natural that is coming after that. If you go on GEC’s website and check out the production photos you will be able to spot the difference.

Great question:
Muslin is made from cotton, whereas linen is made from flax. Flax is the plant that also provides linseed, as an interesting note.

My first attempt at a "hillbilly"... I used the white pocket carver, but somehow forgot to get it in the pic. Guess you'll have to trust me on that..

What a knife! To think I almost passed on it. Stronger pulls and snappier than the Tidioutes I already have, this one feels more solid overall. The primary is stronger than the secondary’s, same as the Tidioutes. Blade centering is perfection, it’s prettier than my picture. The knocks against it won’t matter with time and use: a couple tiny gaps that won’t effect performance at all and will disappear with time and patina.

Overall pretty stoked about this one. It’s the first GEC I’ve gotten that I immediately feel so comfortable about carrying literally everywhere I usually carry knives. Going to carry it a lot and see how it does day-to-day.
