2020 GEC #62 Easy Pocket Congress and Pocket Carver Thread

Unfortunately I cannot discuss, I have been formally warned. Evidently I am the one they choose to make an example of. Suffice it to say it was an early reserve.
Say no more, that’s all I needed to know. Kicking myself...

Weird, I registered for a reserve on one of the carvers and haven't heard a peep.
I suspect there’s more than one game in town. I can understand any impatience one might have at getting their hands on one of these. It’s driving me bonkers.

I was thinking about this, to paraphrase an old Bob Dylan lyric:

"Your 62 just knows what you need, but the 23 knows what you want..."

;)

who got that blue-ish colored stag? that thing was purty, i almost bought it but i already have one on the way from Mike

I got one coming from KSF, myself. I can't post pics because the internet ghouls at work won't allow me to access that website... had to order it off my phone.
I think it will be a keeper, though, from the pics posted... this will be my second stag, so one will likely be catch and release. Probably. Maybe.. We'll see.

Paying through the nose for my pair of 62s DI and Camel Bone:( Not only the obvious extra shipping expense for Intl. But you have to pay import tax on the shipping costs too!! So it's 25% VAT/Import Tax on the whole invoice extra plus the Post Office now levies its own 'handling' fee of 3 € for each item that is charged duty as well. The knives arrived in the country 17th and 24th Feb, I might be able to get them on Monday but if not Weds (no deliveries/notifications on Tues or Friday now) have to queue up in a crowded food shop to collect them as no more Post Offices here and only in Helsinki and the largest cities. digital progress :poop: Making this hobby very time consuming and getting costly:rolleyes:

Still, it's a great pattern, just my thing and really looking forward to both:cool: Decided against getting one from Britain as the expense is getting a bit too much, it looks a nice Black Micarta and Bomb shield, anybody have one yet??

I have one on the way...I'll post some pics after receipt.

I've been on the fence about ordering a 62 since the pattern was announced. It's just a little bigger than I generally prefer.

So I'm strongly considering ordering a Case Mini Copperhead with the wharnecliffe main instead. It has a nearly identical blade configuration, and seems like it would be equally as nice in pocket. Plus it's stainless, something that isn't too common in my collection, so I'll be more likely to use it in the humid summer.

This was only loosely related to the 62, hope that's okay. I still might crumble and pick up a 62 too.

I have a mini copperhead, and to me, it feels substantially smaller than the 62. It might not be, on paper, but it just feels smaller.... you should find a 62 and handle it... it feels very nice with rounded bolsters. I think the word that pops into my mind each time I use mine is "sleek"... another one you might consider, if you can find it, is the Case swayback jack. It's sort of an inbetween size.

Back to the topic... I may give in and get the other micarta.. my resistance is crumbling...
