I added two to the family today... one is an SFO in micarta, and the other is a prize... a 2011 62 in tomato acrylic.
The micarta has the lightest pulls of any of my 62's... probably no more than a 4, perhaps less, once I flush/clean the joints. The secondary came with a line of polishing compound still on it, that wiped right off. It's amazing how each of the covers makes the knife feel different.. this one is slim feeling, with a slightly grippy texture.
The tomato is just gorgeous... it took me a few months to actually "see" a tomato acrylic for how attractive that pattern really is. I then set out to find one for sale, in ANY model... then this 62 came along.. so, I get a 9 year old, pristine 62 in the wonderful (to me, at least) tomato acrylic. Perfect.

My coco arrived today... I think it's the most unusual cocobolo I've seen. It looks like it might be from the edge of a burl, or something like that. It doesn't really have the grain pattern I'm accustomed to seeing in coco...
Fit and finish, and the walk and talk are classic GEC... I think I like it. My second carver...
The yorkie was unimpressed...takes more than a new knife to get Duke excited...:D

I can’t get over those scales. Wow.
That’s sooooo cool. Never seen anything quite like that before. “Dynamic” is the word I’d use to describe it.

I folded and ordered a cocobolo after using my white bone the last few days. Lord help me I am weak.

Please move over so I can sit down please, this boat is only so big!

LOL

I ordered a Cocobolo Pocket Carver as I was playing around with my new Micarta #62. For a model I swore I wasn't going to fall into, I sure had more than one all of a sudden.

Those black and red micarta Farm and Fields look sooooo nice. Between them and the cocobolos... Im starting to feel pretty tempted. I don’t need another one... but I want one.

I'm glad I passed on that tomatoe when I had the opportunity, I would not have enjoyed it as much as you do. Congrats.

thank you! It is a special knife to me... one of those "un-explainable" things, I suppose.

I hate selling pieces, I almost always regret it. Sometimes sacrifices are made to add another that's wanted more. It does put a smile on my face when the person that gets it really wanted it.

This thread has been a lot of fun to read along. I will have a new 62 of my own to show off soon and need to take a new group shot with were I sit presently. GEC did a heck of a job on these, the stag alone have all been beauties.

Thanks to everyone showing off pics and fueling the fire :)

Yes, I was remiss in not publicly thanking you for selling it to me! :D
