2020 GEC #62 Easy Pocket Congress and Pocket Carver Thread

New arrival! Very pleased with the grain on cocobolo covers.
Nice firm pulls on all three, much stronger than the white bone I received
Havent shaved with a razor for over a decade and wont be trying it with this one :p:)

THIS!! My favorite way for Cocobola to look - reminiscent of its Rosewood cousin!!:)
Nice one, BIGDORK BIGDORK !!

I thank you sir, all of my other cocobolo covers in my meager collection are much darker. I was tickled to finally get one with some rich coloring.

Sadly, it looks like GEC is being forced to close down for now, by the governor of PA.... no more new knives for the immediate future. Hope they all stay safe up there.

Yes, it's true!! All finished knives were shipped out to dealers today!!
All unfinished parts are starting their duty of collecting spider webs for a while!! I hope for all of us, this does not take long!!
All these well-trained cutlers might have to find alternate work.
I pray for Bill and his merry band!!!:(

Hope GEC and their employees are able to weather this storm. They've been on a tear since I started collecting about a year ago.

My wife got me the natural canvas #62 yesterday as a birthday gift since we had been planning on going to the factory next week.

Still thinking about adding the Goldenrod Camel Bone but I'll wait to see how things go over the next month or so ...

Good luck to GEC and its employees.
Just received my cocobolo today. Not as unique as a couple of the ones posted here, but I think I did good.

Oh yeah....I got a button. Even if everybody gets a button, I still feel special :D
That's a nice looking knife... that's more like what I think coco should look like... dark swirling grain in the lighter reddish wood... very nice.

I'm hoping for some nice wood, as I impatiently wait for delivery!!
It's not here yet!! It's not here yet!!
But, I can while away some time (can't go too far!!) playing with my Tomato from 2011!:) I certainly can't "bear" to part with this one!! The Tomato acrylic is swirled with an orange-y color that, like the old celluloid "waterfall" handles, writhes and shimmers in the light!! Oooh! Aahh!:DTomato Bear 1.jpg Tomato Bear 2.jpg

(The ring passes the smell test for vintage Navajo Cerrillos turquoise and coin silver!)

Yes, Charlie... seeing pics of your tomato made me have to go out and buy one from the same run! (miracle that it came available) I think the tomato acrylic is under-rated for its looks. Mine is lucky #13...:D

Love that ring of yours.... I have bought a few off the 'bay, a couple of them signed by one or other of the Yazzies... I really like vintage turquoise. I do have a couple of recently made rings with Bisbee turquoise.

Bisbee can be beautiful Turquoise, hornetguy!! Maybe we should start a "Rings and Knives" thread!!?? I am sure many people here wear rings when carrying knives!! (where is the emoji that looks like your avatar??)
:D

Ubiquitous Kingman from a Navajo school! It's been to many Oregon Shows!! I left it behind in a motel, and got it back from Eugene to Vancouver!!
Sweet people!!;)
