2020 OKCA Show

Though I don't live too far away, I am not very familiar with Eugene. I tend to avoid large population centers...

There are some great breweries down there though and I usually make a point to visit at least one when attending the show.

We tableholders will have nametags on us, but tags on the other side of the table, is a great Idea!!

Running list of potential attendees:
waynorth waynorth - Charlie (tableholder)
gunstockjack gunstockjack - Barry (tableholder)
@knowtracks - Dave (tableholder)
@MCar - McKay
@KellyGlanzer - Kelly
@eisman (tableholder)
@paulhilborn
@Campbellclanman - Duncan
@WHT
abbydaddy abbydaddy - Jon
rockgolfer rockgolfer - Jeff
@khopesh
danno50 danno50 - Dan
Pàdruig Pàdruig - Dylan
BigKurtHaze BigKurtHaze - Kurt

I'll print a tag for everyone on the list.
Should I include our real names? Personally, I am the absolute worst at remembering names. Some of you I know now :)
I'd like my name on the tag :)

I am ok with my real name on the tag. Members of OKCA will also have their names on their membership cards, which have to be worn to get in on Friday,

Here are what Charlie, Dave, and myself looked like last year. I guess we look about the same now; maybe a little worse for wear.

Nametags or not, stop by and introduce yourselves and shoot the bull a bit! We will have a lot of great knives to CE & CF between us.

It occurred to me...there is some possibility the OKCA show would be cancelled :eek::eek::eek:
Go away coronavirus!

Here you go:

No gatherings of more than 250 people in Oregon for 4 weeks, Gov. Kate Brown says
Updated Mar 12, 9:42 AM; Posted Mar 11, 9:56 PM

She also said the state expects thousands more cases of Coronavirus from the total of 19 patients as of March 12th.

Doesn’t sound very positive for the OKCA show although their website says the show is on as of ? Don’t know when the website was updated last.

Just copied this from the OKCA website:

The April Knife Show is not cancelled
The Show will go on!

Well, I had been thinking of attending. But then I bought my Dad a plane ticket to come out for a visit. It’s been almost two years since he has been here and seen his only two Grandchildren in person. Now with everything happening here I may postpone his trip, which would free me up for the show. But I work in a job with exposure to the public on a frequent basis. I’d hate to be the reason someone picked up this crud, even if all they did was pass it on to someone with vulnerable health conditions:(:(

Well shoot...I am going to be seriously bummed out if the show is cancelled. I've been looking forward to this since I left the last show!!! I can't get to the Rendezvous so this is my only opportunity for our Rendezvous West.
Will wait and see...the timing is such that the 4 weeks could be up before the show.

I don't know about the show going on!!??:rolleyes: But here in Canada, my doctors advised me not to go, and now the Provincial Government made an announcement yesterday that Canadians should avoid all non-essential trips to the USA, or anywhere!! And if you go, you should self-quarantine at home for 14 days when you return!! I am completely bummed out!!:(
GEC has cancelled its tables at the Oregon Show also!!:eek: Bill won't send any of his employees on a trip at this time!!
This is a terrible situation!!

This situation does not look good for the show, as even if it's not cancelled, many table holders will cancel and many folks won't show up for fear of catching this virus. I have not cancelled, but am very concerned about this.:(:(:(

Knowing the OKCA Club members as I do, their situation is not great!
Unlike many knife shows, OKCA is non-profit, and is run by volunteers!!
I paid for my table , so donated the fee, and I am sending a further contribution!!
I hope the show goes on without further ado!!
