2022 GEC #36 ElephantToenail/Elephant Toe/Sunfish Thread

Wow, I really want one of these, and have no idea or hopes as to how to get on the drop. Looking forward to seeing pics of the ones that get scored though. GEC is doing some amazing stuff recently and it is fun to watch from the sidelines.
Hey sitflyer, you still looking for one of these in indian jigged bone?

Fresh out the tube, current #36 scores. I have a cocobolo on the way, so I'll have one of each of the shields at least.

I think my favorite is the india jigged bone so far. The blood red jigged bone has a much stronger pull (both have nice pulls though) and a little oopsie where they spun the lower pin in the wrong spot.

Well... I went back and forth, back and forth, but finally settled on the cocobolo. So many of the cover options looked great! In the end, the combination of the shield and cocobolo was just too good to pass up.

Today has been a heck of a birthday! I got notification from Mike that my turn was up for the Elephant Toenail, Jeff Hubbard let me know that he hand picked out a replacement Buck 212 Legacy, and I received notice that my Ember 3.5 from REK Knives!

Thanks knifeswapper knifeswapper !

If you were on standby for the CK early reserve... I'd go check your email.

I only managed to secure a standby status and the only thing is sold out so far is the blood red jigged bone.

Happy birthday fixall 🎉🎁

My NACB 36 arrived today...... Attached are some crappy, low light, grainy pics.......
Overall the knife is great..... Smooth action, superbly ground blade, professional fitment and detailing......

The jigging is nicely done in a structured pattern with each stroke of the cutter encompassing 1/2 the width of the bone..... The shield is well fitted and flush to the handle......

This one might be my darling of the family of 5.. 🙂👍

The 36 quickly became my favorite pattern, maybe it just fits into my big hands better than your more "normal" sized peices. Sure are a lot of them being offered on the secondary, more than any pattern I can recently remember, might be able to scoop some of these bad boys for under retail soon enough...

Wow! Each of those knives have their own identity, but to see the whole series together is quite an impressive set. Congrats on that beautiful assembly! I bet that will be even more jaw dropping ten years down the road.

Thank you kind Sir!........ I hope I'm still around in 10 years 🙏
