Now, that's funny! The DI is, indeed, a tasty treat!
My hunch is that the DI covers across the board are going to be pretty spectacular. For me personally, though, this ranks among the nicest set of GEC covers in my collection, no doubt.
I hear you. The good news is I greatly cut back on my knife purchases this year. That being said I’m very tempted by the ironwood 59s, especially after seeing photos likeI’ve finally reached my limit. Had the opportunity to purchase the ironwood from two different vendors and both were over $200 plus tax. For me that is in the Albers range and imho the quality of his work is worth the cost. I’m sure they will all sell out even at that price point and don’t get me wrong they look beautiful. We’ll see where the stag comes in.

I’ve finally reached my limit. Had the opportunity to purchase the ironwood from two different vendors and both were over $200 plus tax. For me that is in the Albers range and imho the quality of his work is worth the cost. I’m sure they will all sell out even at that price point and don’t get me wrong they look beautiful. We’ll see where the stag comes in.
I think this question was answered somewhere. I remember the answer be: they simply can't handle that much of postage work, so they only ship to dealers and from then on it's dealers' business.
I believe these are, with some exceptions, selling at MSRP. Balancing the knife budget, FOMO, the lack of a production schedule, all during a period of hyperinflation is tricky and risky. My gamble paid off this time. By passing on some earlier knives I am able to afford a couple of these whittlers. I feel fortunate an hope future production is as good for you all as this one is for me. I will be sitting out some of the coming runs myself.I’ve finally reached my limit. The #59s are lovely knives and am happy that folks will enjoy them but I have endeavored to skip them entirely, I don't need more knives that will likely never get used. The MSRP on the stag is $217. That's $52 more than the acrylic. I am a stag fanatic and have a lot of nice GEC stag knives, but this little devil broke through my ceiling as well. I have one reserved and will honor this one, but it will take a killer pattern I can't resist to pull the trigger going forward. It sounds like the frenzy for these may be slowing down due to cost.
