Yep, as you stated, if Joan Mae doesn't know, she will go to Bill and get a prompt answer. We'll see what we discover next week I guess. So being that they did their first shipment of stag on Friday just before they shut down, it will be interesting to see if there are 2 variations of finish and etch on those blades as well. This actually came to light a few weeks ago but came up again recently here. Joan Mae is my direct contact at GEC...Bill is not very easy to get a hold ofShe asks Bill or Randy or whoever and is very helpful
For engineering questions, I reach out to Randy but I'm not sure he will know the reason (and he is travelling with his family at the moment I am pretty sure)...I will ask though.

I'm not sure how involved Randy is outside of the design stages. Who knows, Maybe this was William's call with Bill's blessing. I agree with Jiki , I think this was preplanned with some reasoning behind it. Stay tuned as the saga continues.Randy got back to me but he didn’t even know there were two shields![]()
One thing for certain…is that Bill Howard is very unpredictableMy stag is on the way. When I get it I will post a new family picture.
Two random thoughts:
1. All the satin DI I've seen so far (not many) have very dark wood. It will be interesting to see if that's a pattern and maybe they added satin the the dark wood examples to make them more desirable than they would be without the satin blade.
2. I am waiting to see if they do a stag/satin. I think they did with the most recent run of 68s in very small volume.
Have a great night.
Rick
I predict that you have predicted that correctly, Darren!!One thing for certain…is that Bill Howard is very unpredictable![]()
Great grouping!! Nice to see the Stag appearing !!!View attachment 1951714
Light and dark ironwood, and a pretty darn nice stag. These Northfield 59s are a classy bunch.
The stags are still dropping so you have a shot.
The stags aren't done yet. One of the the big 4 dealers did a IW drop this afternoon and were gone in 15 seconds.
