Jigging looks smooth, I like it!
I agree. Great looking jigging on this one. Can’t wait. Swedge looks really tall. I like it. Wonder if they did that to help promote better whittling?Jigging looks smooth, I like it!
That was either esthetic or for fit in the blade well. Probably the later in my opinion, not for whittling.I agree. Great looking jigging on this one. Can’t wait. Swedge looks really tall. I like it. Wonder if they did that to help promote better whittling?Jiki
Oh man! Looks great and I’m excited for “mine” to be in hand this weekendNo glamour shots but I am really pleased with how these turned out. The walk and talk is actually quite nice, the blade centering is spot on and blade sizes are appropriate for whittling. The acrylic looks much nicer in person than I imagined. I really hope they do some Northfields.

I hope you give whittling another shot. Even the act of making pointy sticks can be very therapeutic and relaxing. I know a fellow that just carves mushrooms. Big ones, small ones, button, Shantrells, just mushrooms. Picks up sticks, basswood, any piece of wood. He says it gives him peace. No more whittling for me I am officially retiredI kept the glove though and use it to shuck oysters (because of course I slashed myself doing that too).
Any beginner books or content you’d recommend? This will be my first whittler and I’ve got to try it out. I just don’t know where to start or how to learn. I’m sure there is tons of stuff on the internet but if you know a good place to start I’m all ears.I hope you give whittling another shot. Would love some nice wood covers and NW trimif they announce a NF trim on these, I will probably loose my mind. this pattern checks all the boxes for me.
Doug Linker on YouTube. Fox publishing just put out an addition of their whittling magazine.Any beginner books or content you’d recommend? This will be my first whittler and I’ve got to try it out. Nice Freddy Krueger acrylic! No really, they should've called it that.My HB #59 just arrived and it’s a beauty! The pics don’t capture the depth and figure of the acrylic. Fit and finish is excellent and and the split back spring is very cool. I just might have to take up whittling.
