Has any Canucks had any issues with shipping these across the border? My friend ordered a Yeti and its held up in customs. I thought because it was a traditional he wouldn't have any problems.

As much as I admired the whimsical aspects of the Bayou Trapper and its various iterations, I was still a bit on the fence -- until, that is, I saw the DI version. That was it, so I pulled the trigger. Just arrived this afternoon, and am liking everything about it. As far as cosmetics go, I particularly love how the pile side grain seems to have a sowbelly contour of its own. This is something I have seen on a number of the DI 88's -- as a general matter, looks like GEC has done a beautiful job of matching the grain to this frame. W&T is excellent, and perfectly suited to this knife. Anyhow, here are a couple of photos, taken under a Japanese maple upon arrival...

Nice knife, Big Kurt!! I'm waiting for my Oregon Knife Club version!! Also waitin' on a Gator, so hopefully I'll have a menagerie when they get here!!

I wonder how Beavers get along with Gators?? They hang out in water, but probably not in the same pond!!

Finished up the single clip blade 88 tonight. The gabon ebony is pure black. I don't see
any streaking or light colors, which I think looks good on this knife. Worked the grips so it was comfortable in my hand and then gave them some large, smooth contours. Replaced the temporary pins with some stainless ones and the action smoothed up even more. Opens and closes very nicely now.

What's even MORE strange is that it came with a little chaperone/security guard.... ???
I'll leave it up to the porch regulars to figure out who the generous member was that sent it all to me in exchange for a paltry sum of 'murrican legal tender....
