Who makes the non-GEC sheath? Or did you make it?

No idea who made it. Its something I've had in a drawer for some time. I don't remember if it even had a knife in it when I got it....However, it would not be terribly difficult or expensive to reproduce. Its a very simple design.

OK so I took a quick look......
If you want one just like it go on ebay and search for "Custom Leather Sheath for Fixed Blade Knife 1034".
Its just like the one in the picture, and not at all expensive......
Thanks! I'll check it out.

If I were only going to have one, I feel like it would be the drop point. That said, I feel like the caping profile is a great complement to either the drop or muskrat.

At least one of the GEC listed distributors still has all three blade styles in stock in midnight camo micarta, and one Muskrat in beeswax.
Ordered the drop point last night. I suppose I need the Muskrat now

I got one of the GEC sheaths, and I think it works well. The leather is thick enough that unless you're hammering the knife in with tons of force, I don't see how you can puncture it with a little H20.

Maybe so but that version has the cutting edge on the side that is away from the seam. The other two versions as shown have the cutting edge right on the seam. Its very easy to cut the thread used to sew the sheath when no welt is used, especially at the bottom.....and with a sheath made like this its not a matter of if the threads get cut but when.... How thick the leather is doesn't really matter.

Put that coping blade in the sheath with the cutting edge towards the stitching side. Its easily done. Turn the cutting edge to the opposite side and probably never happen. I wasnt paying attention, bam out the side of the stitching.

It’s an easy fix with super glue and a clamp (that’s what I did). Just don’t put the blade back in until the glue is dry or you’ll have to scrape dried glue off the blade. Better yet, you can remove the stitching and add a welt, then glue it and stitch it back. 👍

Nice duo, you need to complete the set!

Yes I will try the super glue, thanks!

I had the pleasure of handling one sent in by .577NE .577NE for sheathing.

It's definitely a neat little knife, but not too small to be an excellent user. I'm a big fan of the simple block handle, and the way the blade sits off of it seems like it would make for a very practical cutting tool. Being that it wasn't my knife I didn't get to play with the edge but it did feel pleasantly thin.

However, as others have stated the factory sheath is objectively awful... outside of that it's a great knife :)

Oh, and whatever GEC is doing to their micarta it's pretty magical. It's the kind of micarta you can tell is going to age beautifully.

finally was able to get an H2 with no sheath and as most of you know its hard not being on a dealer list so I'm happy to find one
made my own sheath out of left over10oz wicket and craig I had left over from a knife mat I recently made its real soft probably to soft for a fixed blade even though its a 10 weight
I own a lot of fixed bladed and this is as simple as it gets for the price I like it
